'1 in a Million' Clip Shows Modern Warfare 2 Player Killing Themselves With Own Grenade from Across the Map

ACall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2multiplayer beta clip shows a player managing to kill themselves with their own grenade from across the map. Activision recently hosted two weekends of theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2multiplayer beta, giving gamers across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox the opportunity to try this year’sCall of Dutymultiplayer experience ahead of launch.

There have been plenty of viral clips from theCall of Duty:Modern Warfare 2multiplayer beta tests. Some of these clips show off incredible skill on the part of dedicatedCall of Dutyplayers in the new game, while others are more amusing in nature, like the one where anMW2player was crushed by a teammate’s care package. One clip that’s been making the rounds online shows aCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2player kill themselves from across the map with their own grenade.

In the clip, Reddit user shogun_eyes is seen playing on theFarm 18 multiplayer map. They throw a grenade across the map, but are shot dead by enemy players right away. Unfortunately for shogun_eyes, they respawn on the other side of the map and happen to come into the game exactly where their grenade lands. The grenade blows up, killing shogun_eyes immediately after spawning.

There are a few different factors that make this clip possible. For one, Farm 18 is one of the smallermultiplayer maps inModern Warfare 2, and so players are able to throw a grenade across it relatively easy. Secondly,Call of Dutygames have long allowed players to kill themselves with their own grenades. This way, players have to be careful about where they throw grenades and how long they cook them. And finally,Modern Warfare 2’s spawn system makes it so players often spawn in near allies, and since one of their allies was on the other side of the map, that’s where shogun_eyes appeared when they respawned.

WhenModern Warfare 2multiplayer officially launches, fans can expect many more funny and impressive clips hitting the Internet. The game’s multiplayer mode will be available to everyone in less than a month’s time, but those who are interested in the single-player should note that theModern Warfare 2campaignwill be available on October 20 for those that pre-order the digital version of the game. Multiplayer, Spec Ops, and other modes have to wait until the official release date, however.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2launches on October 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
