13 Sentinels: Aegis Rimis split into three parts: Remembrance, Destruction, and Analysis. The first two are pretty self-explanatory: Remembrance is13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim’sstory mode, while Destruction is the game’s mech combat.
Analysis, by contrast, isn’t so much played as it is researched. It’s basically an in-game encyclopedia, which is useful for keeping track of13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim’s sprawling narrative.

It’s not all available at once, however. Each topic is a separate mystery file, and each one needs to be unlocked, either by fulfilling specific conditions or spending mystery points.
The Contents of The Mystery Files
The mystery files serve multiple purposes. They partially function as a recap system. If a player forgets what a certain character is doing or what a certain plot element is, they can look it up in its corresponding mystery files. Each file gets updated as the player learns new information, and sometimes there are tidbits of extra info that isn’t available in the main story.
As part of13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim’s localization, the mystery files also explainJapanese cultural details that might get lost in translation. For example, the brawler Nenji Ogata calls the schoolgirl Tomi Kisaragi “Dogface,” which she’s slightly confused by. The mystery files elaborate that he’s using “Chinkusha,” which is seriously outdated slang.
Lastly, the mystery files give Vanillaware an avenue for its habit oflovingly rendering video game food. If a character is seen eating something or even just mentions it, then there’s a guarantee that players will find an entry for it accompanied by high-definition sprite work.
Earning Mystery Points and Unlocking Mystery Files
Not all mystery files need mystery points to unlock. The most critical ones will unlock automatically as playersprogress through13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim’s campaign. Some of them can only be unlocked by fulfilling special conditions in each Destruction wave, like only using four or fewer pilots. The rest, however, need those points.
The player will accumulate some automatically. Every first clear on a combat mission gives the player a mystery point, and most remembrance chapters tend to give one or two at completion. These, however, won’t be enough if the player wants to go for 100% completion.
The rest of the mystery points are tied to the Destruction Mode’s scoring system. The better the player does in combat, with fast clears and low damage, the more points they get. Further, the pilots get tired from consecutive battles, but if the player can win multiple waves without resting, their score multiplier goes up. When players pass certain score amounts, they get rewarded with mystery points.
Players can repeat missions so that they can farm for mystery points. If they want to speed up the process, they should invest in upgrading the meta-terminal, which improves the score multiplier rewards and improves every character’s upgrade options.
