Game Rant Arcade Episode 32 is here, featuring the long-awaited return of Cameron, who is well-rested from vacation. With a ton of news breaking throughout the week, there’s plenty for Cameron and Anthony to discuss on this week’s episode, including some big updates about Activision and the all-newDead Spaceremake.

Kicking things off, theXbox Series X and PS5 shortages could last into 2023, as chip shortages may continue for a decent bit longer. This puts the industry in a strange position, as it means that the console cycle could well be almost halfway through before the systems are available. However, sales still appear to be outpacing the previous generation.

EA Play brought a bounty of new announcements, the biggest beingDead Spaceremake’s official reveal. Little is known about the project as it stands, though EA has since stated that the game will feature content cut from the original. Key development staff from the franchise is also returning, which paints a positive picture for the game’s eventual release. However, no release window was announced, so it may be anotherDragon Age 4situation.

That wasn’t the only announcement to come from the EA Play conference, though. EA also revealed theBattlefield 2042Portal, a new feature that will combine several distinct eras, allowing players to, say, face off against a group of World War 2-era German soldiers against modern military combatants. There are questions about balance, but it looks like one of the most promising new additions to come to an FPS game in years.

Finally, Activision’s situation has gotten worse in the last week, as employees begin to detail some of the specific abuse that has happened there. The most troubling has been regarding a “Cosby Suite” that was perpetrated by employees at the company during Blizzcon, the details of which are disgusting.
