Summary
TheAEW: Fight Foreverroster is getting a little bigger with the addition of Toni Storm, the currently reigning AEW Women’s World Champion. All-Elite Wrestling’s more retro-style answer to theWWE 2Kseries finally launched back in June after a nearly three-year-long development cycle and several delays. Reactions toAEW: Fight Foreverhave been somewhat mixed, with some players praising its return to the classic style ofbeloved squared circle simulators likeWWF No Mercyand others bemoaning its uneven presentation and shortage of gameplay modes.
Despite this rough start, publisher THQ Nordic and formerWWEvideo game developer Yuke’s are continuing their support forAEW: Fight Foreverby adding new match types and playable wrestlers all year long. First cameFight Forever’s Superstar Stampedein August, an online battle royale mode in which players battle it out inside a baseball stadium. December saw the addition of “Beat The Elite,” a gauntlet that pits players against 10 opponents, leading up to a final confrontation with a member of The Elite. Additionally,AEW Fight Foreverfans can now take to the ring as Anthony Bowens and Max Caster of The Acclaimed.

Now another big-name performer is joining in on the digital mayhem ofAEW: Fight Forever, as revealed in a new trailer on the THQ Nordic YouTube Channel. Toni Storm, who was previously announced as part ofAEW Fight Forever’s Season 2 DLC pass, is now available to purchase and download, as heralded by a montage of the “Timeless” wrestler in action. In addition to Storm herself, players can get access to new premium music tracks and cosmetic items for their custom characters in the newly-released “The Storm is Coming” DLC.
As of this writing, Toni Storm is on her third run as the AEW Women’s World Champion, which she won fromfellowAEW: Fight Foreverplayable wrestlerHikaru Shida during November’sFull Gearpay-per-view event. Before signing with All-Elite Wrestling in 2022, Storm competed in WWE for nearly four years, during which she appeared as a playable character inWWE 2K20andWWE 2K22. The latter appearance was a peculiar case, as it came after Storm left the company in 2021, similar to many otherWWE 2K22roster members who departed before its long-delayed release.
Toni Storm’s recent addition toAEW: Fight Forevermarks her first appearance in a video game since joining All-Elite Wrestling, and it comes while she’s riding high as thecurrent AEW Women’s World Champion. Players can now see for themselves just what makes her such a dominant competitor in the squared circle inAEW: Fight Forever, as well as enjoy the many bonuses included in the “The Storm is Coming” DLC pack.
