Now, oneAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayer has shown off an area of their island dedicated to the zany platforming franchiseCrash Bandicoot.

Now that the series is once again relevant to modern gamers, it may not be a surprise thatAnimal Crossingfans might be interested in creating tributes to Crash and his friends.

Redditor thelordofgifts shared a screenshot of the part of their island that has been dedicated to recreating thelook and feel ofCrash Bandicoot. At a glance, the image shows thick jungle merging into a display of lush palm trees, seemingly floating platforms, and brightly glowing crates. The result bears a striking similarity to the landscape of the Wumpa Islands, complete with the 3D platforming areasCrash Bandicootis known for.
The area includes a rectangular pond with small, squared-off islands featuring what seems to be drawings of theCrash Bandicootplatform designs leading the player forward. Similar designs continue on solid ground in two directions: off to the right, into the woods, and forward up to a large platform patterned like a red mushroom with white spots.Crash Bandicoot’s iconic mutant animalshave yet to make an appearance, but the famous Wumpa Fruit and notorious TNT crates are proudly displayed at the far end of the pond. The set-up also features what seem to be two glowing flowers, one on the left side of the pond and one perched on the mushroom platform.
As of writing, it appears that other fans are excited about thelordofgifts' creation. This isn’t the first time anAnimal Crossingplayer has tried torecreate a classic location from another game, but it may be one of the most true to the spirit of the original title. Several users congratulated them on their hard work, with two users asking how they managed to create the glowing crates. The current theory is that thelordofgifts managed to customize the cube light furniture item, which is usually a flat, solid color.
