SomeApex Legendsfans are upset with how teams are composed in the upcoming Team Deathmatch mode coming in the next season. WhileSeason 16 ofApex Legendscontains a number of changesthat could shake up the gameplay in significant ways, some fans think that the new LTM could do with a change before it releases. As the name implies, Team Deathmatch is a new LTM inApex Legendsthat pits two teams of six against each other. The game mode consists of best out of three rounds, with the number of kills necessary to win each round being 30. Team Deathmatch looks to add a fast-paced dynamic to the game similar to theControl LTM inApex Legends, albeit on a smaller scale. While many fans seem excited about this upcoming LTM, it is not without its critics.RELATED:Details of Canceled Apex Legends Single Player Game Surface OnlineOn Reddit, a user known as Lilbentley highlighted a tweet from Apex Legends News that revealed that each team in Team Deathmatch will be composed of two groups of three players. This means that a player will only be able to squad up with two of their friends despite a total of six players on their team. Lilbentley decided to ask theApex Legendscommunity what they thought of this change, and it seems that not everyone is content with this matchmaking system.

In the comment section, there was no shortage of players weighing in on the matter, with the thread already having over 2.1K upvotes and more than 300 comments. Among the discussions, a number of gamers noted the lack of being able to queue into matches of Team Deathmatch with more than two other people as a substantial drawback. “This sucks, the reason ppl don’t play this game is because they can’t que up with all their friends,” one user said. In addition, another gamer pointed out that being unable to play with more than two friends was a reason they wereplaying games likeOverwatch 2more lately.

It is worth pointing out that there are possible benefits to limiting premade squads to three people when queuing for Team Deathmatch. A number of players suggested that encountering premade groups of six could prove very frustrating for those solo queuing or only playing with a friend or two. However, another user countered by saying that Respawn could prioritize placing teams of large premade groups against each other in matchmaking.

It will be interesting to see the fan reception to this new LTM when it arrives with Season 16 on February 14. In addition, the upcoming season will introduce a newLTM-focused playlist called Mixtape inApex Legends, launching after the three-week run of Team Deathmatch. Hopefully, these rotating modes will keep the game fresh for those wanting to check outApex Legendsin the weeks ahead.
