Over the past week or so, theApex Legendscommunity has been incredibly busy. There was the recent, huge leak that detailed several upcomingApex Legendscharacters, new mythic skins, new weapons, a new map, and much, much more. At the same time, the Warrior Collection event also welcomed back Control—a fan-favorite LTM seemingly on its way to becoming a core game mode.
When, or if, this happens remains to be seen, but many players want it to happen. BringingControl back toApex Legendspermanently would mean the popular battle royale game wouldn’t just be a BR game anymore. It would then have BR, Arenas, and Control. It seems Respawn Entertainment is preparing for this expansion, with the developer recently making some big changes to the trackers. It has not made players happy, however.

There are currently several posts on theApex Legendssubreddit where players are expressing their dislike of these changes. For starters, all the battle royale trackers now have BR at the front of them, an in doing so, seasonal trackers no longer have theApex Legendsseason numberwith them. They do have the season symbol associated with it, but as many also point out, that’s something many don’t keep track of season after season. It’s much less they could recognize older season symbols.
It’s not just that, though, as there are plenty of complaints lobbied against this change. This also includes how one tracker includes a typo (BP instead of BR), the general look of the abbreviation in the trackers, the need to pinpoint its “main” game mode, the surprise of the change, and more. Many also seem to think thatApex Legends’ Arenasplays some role here, while others do point out how this could mean Control is eventually going to be permanent.
On the flip side, many also argued that it was not that big of a deal. Some think the community will forget about it in a couple of weeks, while others highlight specifying which game mode simply makes sense. It does seem, overall, that the community leans toward dislike over these changes, but for now, it seems unlikely thatApex Legendsreverts these changes.
Despite this reception, there’s still plenty to look forward to as well. Respawn Entertainment has already confirmed some type ofApril Fools’ Day event forApex Legends, which is usually well-received by the community. In the past, it came in the form of a golden Mozambique, but fans will have to wait for April 1 to see what Respawn is planning this year.
Apex Legendsis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. A mobile version is available in some regions.
