Apex Legendsis currently coming hot off of the launch of Season 9. The new season of the battle royale is one of the most exciting yet, adding a major new mode in Arenas, as well as expected content like a new weapon and a new character. But live service games live and die based on constant change and new content, so it’s no surpriseApex Legendsdataminers have already discovered what’s coming next. Players can expect a new Collection Event soon codenamed Japan Legacy.

The leak comes fromApex Legendsdataminer GarretLeaks on Twitter. They’ve shared the codename, which is referred to as “jpnlegacy” inApex Legendsfiles, as well as some of the content to be included in the Collection Event. Specifically, there are two different skins that have been leaked, as well as the event’s “loot tick.” There are also some banner frames for Revenant andBangalore, which Garret believes could mean they’ll each receive skins, too.

The reskinned loot tick is the most persuasive evidence that Garret’s leaks are both reliable and tied to the nextApex Legendsevent. The little robot is recolored a dark red with black accents, overlaid with golden detail in the shape of cherry tree blossoms. The skins and banner frames are similarlythemed around Japan, showing that they’re likely all related to the same upcoming event. The one surprise is that relatively little content for Japan Legacy event has been put into the game yet.

Garret unfortunately doesn’t have much else to share about Japan Legacy. There’s nothing regarding the event’s potential release window, for instance. He does mention that he expects aRevenant heirloomto be included with the Japan Legacy Collection Event, but that he won’t say it’s confirmed. Leaks will likely be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.

There’s no reliable way to guess when the Japan Legacy event will start inApex Legends. For example, theAnniversary Collection Eventstarted within a week of Season 8’s start. Chaos Theory then started a month into the season. While there were three events in January, February, and March in 2021, there were two months without an event to end 2020. In other words, Japan Legacy could start anytime, or it could be another month.

Expect more information on the Japan Legacy Collection Event, as well as its official name, in the weeks ahead. If content from the event is already being found in thecurrent Season 9 version ofApex Legends, the event can’t be too far off.

Apex Legendsis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
