Fans eager to get their hands onAssassin’s Creed Valhallamay only have less than a month to go, but some new information about the game’s Norse influence is sure to make the wait a bit harder with some cool details just revealed.
In an interview with PCGamesN, Game Director Eric Baptizat revealed that while visiting thevarious locations in the world ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, players will venture to the classic Norse realms Asgard and Jotunheim while the player character navigates a new aspect of the series, visions quests.

Baptizat, who has worked on the series sinceAssassin’s Creed: Black Flag, revealed that because mythology and religion are a big part of the history and world at the time, its presence will be felt in the game through thebeliefs ofValhalla’scharactersand the actions they choose. The latest entry in the series looks to once again blur the lines of history and mythology withValhalha,having a significant storyline for the player as they go on a vision quest. The quest allows players to visit the different realms in the game and begins when they interact with a shaman named Valka, the seer.
WhileAssassin’s Creed Valhallalooks to iterate on the mechanics introduced inAssassin’s Creed Originsand refined inAssassin’s Creed Odyssey, fans of the older games can expect thereturn of some classicAssassin’s Creedfeaturesincluding the hidden blade, stalking enemies through towns, and cutscene dialogue that plays out after an assassination reminiscent of the original game, though some of those returning features now have some small twists.
One major aspect of the game is the continuation of the modern-day storyline that began withAssassin’s Creed Origins.Returning to the series is Layla Hassan, who was last seene in the DLC ofAssassins Creed Odyssey. While details on her storyline are largely under lock and key, it has been revealed that some moments will involve Layla free-running and climbing to navigate obstacles in an area above the locations inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Layla will be solving puzzles and learning new information on the history of the series.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft is preparing several promotional campaigns for the game including partnering with Reebok in a newly revealed line ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallaline of shoes. While only releasing a teaser thus far, the hashtag #LikeAViking is being used to promote the shoes so expect a heavy influence from the upcoming game.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallareleases on June 05, 2025, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The PS5 version releases on June 30, 2025.
