The recentAssassin’s Creed15th Anniversary Stream came fans a little glimpse of the future, while confirming more would come in September. TheAssassin’s CreedSeptember eventis expected to reveal, show off, and/or confirm theAssassin’s Creed 1 Remake, AC Rift, AC Infinity,orAC Nexus.
However,Assassin’s Creed Valhallawas confirmed to get two more major items added to the game, seemingly before Ubisoft is done and the Festivals simply go on repeat. The first isAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s roguelike gameplay mode Forgotten Saga, which sees Odin face the handful of Hel’s Legion in Niflheim. It releases this summer, and by the end of the year, there will be a free “final chapter” update.

It’s not certain yet what the final chapter ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallawill specifically entail, but there is one thing most fans would agree must be addressed: Vinland.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Eivor’s Body in Vinland
Early on inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, fans learn thatEivor’s body was ultimately buried in Vinland, but it’s unknown why. Eivor travels the world throughout her life, including Norway, Anglia, Vinland, Francia, Ireland, and even the mythological realms of Asgard, Jotunheim, and Svartalfheim (in a way). Still, her time in Vinland gives no reason as to why she’d be buried there.
This is without a doubt one of the biggest mysteries of the game, as there’s no doubt it carries some significance, and none ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s DLCs confirm anything about Eivor’s death. With the Final Chapter set to bringAssassin’s Creed Valhallato an end, the only proper way to do so is with a return to Vinland.
It doesn’t necessarily need to show how Eivor dies, but it needs to show why she chose her final days in Vinland. After all,Eivor refuses to join the Hidden Onesbecause she sought to continue her life the Viking way—through honor and battle. That doesn’t give her much reason to find any final peace in Vinland, unless there are some major changes.
Not every Assassin in the franchise has some grand reason for their death—Arno, Shay Cormac, and Bayek, among others, have unknown deaths—but that also means several of them don’t have some mystery attached to them. Eivor is not one of these characters, and if the saga ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallais coming to an end, Eivor’s Saga needs to come to an end properly too.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallais available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
