Assassin’s Creed Valhallapresents players with various choices throughout the game that can alter how Eivor proceeds in the story. Some choices can be irrelevant with no major changes in outcome based on the player’s decisions, other choices are more impactful and can change how characters see or interact with Eivor inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Valhallaplayers are introduced to their first major choice early in the game revolving around a character named Gorm. Gorm acts as a means of introducing players to the decision-based narratives ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Eivor will eventually find themselves in a position of power to make a choice to either Kill or Banish Gorm. Depending on the player’s choice, there are subtle changes to the outcome.

Thedecision to Kill or BanishGorm is story-relevant and does have some impact on the main story ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. These story-relevant choices will continue to pop up throughout the game with some consequences being more impacting than others. In the case of Gorm,Valhallaplayers may choose to Kill Gorm. King Harald will not accept Eivor’s decision stating that a quick death is too good for Gorm. Gorm will then be renamed Worm and exiled from the land by King Harald.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallaplayers may also take the route of mercy and choose to Banish Gorm. Choosing to Banish Gorm is taken better by King Harald who will agree with Eivor. Gorm will then be renamed Worm and Banished from the land. This is almost the same outcome as choosing to Kill Gorm, however, the King will be pleased.
Lastly, Eivor can let King Harald decide, rendering the same outcome of renaming Gorm to Worm and Banishing him from the land. The outcome with Gorm is largely unchanged based on the decision, however, Eivor may earn more favor with the King based on their choice. Gorm being exiled from the land sets up future story-relevantcontent thatValhallaplayers will experiencelater in the game.
Future choices in the game can be more or less impacting while other choices will only be relevant in their side quest. Choices inAssassin’s Creed Valhallacan range from fun phases in Flyting matches to more impacting choices that revolve around Sigurd and his role in the story. Players ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallawill face choices of varying importance, with Gorm being the first introduction to how the system works even if its overall outcome is fixed to changing Gorm’s name and Banishing him from the land.
