Koei Tecmo has officially confirmed the release date for the remake ofAtelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburgto be July 13. Koei Tecmo and Gust revealed the remake of the first game in the long-running alchemy RPG franchise earlier this month during the Japanese broadcast ofFebruary’s Nintendo Direct. The remake will feature updated graphics and illustrations along with a variety of new features for the RPG originally released in 1997. Now, fans have a better idea of when they can dive into the franchise’s origins.

While the series has been largely niche throughout most of its life,Atelierhas seen success across multiple games in recent years. The ongoingAtelier Ryzatrilogy has produced the best-selling games in the franchise’s 25-year-long history.Ryza’s success has also seen the developer revisiting some of the franchise’s older titles withAtelier Sophie DXlaunching in 2021 as a remaster of the 2015 RPG, followed byAtelier Sophie 2in 2022. Now,Atelierwill return to the franchise’s introductory game this summer.

The video shows off updated graphics and art featured withintheAtelier Marieremake, introducing players to the lively town of Salburg and many of the characters players will meet throughout the game. The conclusion of the trailer also introduces some of the Japanese pre-order bonuses, including a soundtrack CD and art book.

Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg Remakeis set to add plenty of features to the 1997 RPG with new experiences for both longtime fans and newcomers. The trailer showcased the game’s revamped gathering mechanics, functioning similarly to recentAteliergames likeAtelier Ryza. The remake will also come with the addition of an “Unlimited” mode, promising a more laid-back playstyle alongside the introduction of new events and character interactions.Atelier Marie Remakewas confirmed to feature an expanded tutorial forplayers who are new to theAtelierfranchise.

Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg Remakecomes as part of a 25th anniversary celebration that has already seen multiple games release. Last year saw the launch ofthe previously mentionedAtelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream, coming nearly seven years after the original game.Atelierwill also conclude theRyzachapter of the franchise next month withAtelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End and the Secret Key.
