Summary
Sucker Punch’sGhost of Tsushima: Director’s Cutis now out and available on PC for a plethora of fans to enjoy, and it has unsurprisingly been released with heaps of positive reviews. It stood as one of the best PlayStation 4 titles, released in 2020 as one of the final blockbuster games on the platform alongside Naughty Dog’sThe Last of Us Part 2.
With players on PC finally diving into the critically acclaimed Samurai experience, there are plenty of positive aspects among accessibility, performance, and more that must not be overlooked. Despite some issues related toSony PSN accounts required for the Legends mode, the development team at Nixxes has managed to provide both new and previous players a chance to enjoy the title in the best way possible.

1Ultrawide Aspect Ratios
Supports 3440x1440 & 5120x1440 Resolutions
Considering the idea ofgreater immersionand a better point of view while gaming, there is no doubt that ultrawide monitors have already become a popular option. Fortunately, Nixxes has adhered to this just as it was done with previous PlayStation PC ports such asHorizon Forbidden Westand Insomniac’sMarvel Spider-Manentries.
While cutscenes do have black bars, which are less desired for those utilizing ultrawide monitors, it does not take away from how great the 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios pushGhost of Tsushimato new heights during gameplay. Fans can now appreciate the scenery and atmosphere more so than the PS4 and PS5 experiences.

2AMD’s Frame Generation
Both FSR 3 & DLSS 3 Are Available
While multiple developers have been taking advantage of NVIDIA’s Frame Generation, built to improve performance drastically, AMD graphics card owners have needed to rely on mods in unsupported titles. Fortunately,Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cutcomes with both NVIDIA’s Frame Generation and DLSS 3, alongside AMD’s Frame Generation equivalent known as Fluid Motion Frames with FSR 3.
Despite the game’s performance on PC already being as incredible as other aforementioned ports, Frame Generation being present here for both AMD and NVIDIA GPU owners is an implementation that must be praised.

3PlayStation Overlay
Crossplay For Legends Mode Is In Beta
WithGhost of Tsushima Legendsavailable for PC players along with crossplay with PS4 and PS5 players, many may have anticipated invitations, and joining other sessions would be difficult. Thanks to the includedPlayStation Overlay, players can easily access their PSN accounts once signed in, meaning trophies that players may have achieved on the console will be present on PC.
Issues with multiple countries not being able to create PSN accounts and accessGhost of Tsushimaare yet to be addressed by Sony, which is certainly an urgent and important matter, but it is great to see PlayStation features being utilized on PC without any major hiccups.

4Optimization
Playable On Valve’s Steam Deck
Since a plethora of AAA titles released on PC recently have been the subject of negative reviews due to performance issues, there is no doubt that fans would have been concerned, despite Nixxes’positive porting history. Taking this into consideration, it is very pleasing to seeGhost of Tsushimalaunch on PC in such a great state.
Handheld devices such as the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally are now capable of running the title, and this applies to PC builds that utilize lower-end hardware, thanks to upscaling methods and more.

5Potential For Mods
The Nexus Mods Page Is Now Open
With the level of customization ready and available for players to explore within the base game ofGhost of Tsushima, along with itsIki IslandDLC, the amount ofpotential modsthat could come from this is staggering, to say the least.
From cosmetic mods such as new outfits, hairstyles, weapon skins, or even new animations depending on how mod-friendly the title is, just as modders have done with Capcom’sDragon’s Dogma 2, PC players could be in for a treat.

Since most speculation suggests that Sucker Punch is currently working on a sequel, fans now finally have the chance to be as creative as possible with how muchGhost of Tsushima’s engine allows them.
6Graphics Settings
Very High Settings Stands Above PS4 And PS5 Versions
While there was no doubt that Sucker Punch’s rendition ofGhost of Tsushimawould look much better on PC, it is still a surprise to see just how good it looks while maintaining great performance. GPUs such as the RTX 3080 Ti can run the title at maximum settings using DLSS or FSR 3 andenjoy fantastic visuals.
With custom reshade modifications already available on NexusMods as aforementioned, this can be tweaked to a greater extent. If this is any indication of what is to come with a potential sequel, then fans will be hoping that its exclusive PlayStation Day One launch won’t mean another long wait for its entry to PC.
