As a free-to-play,survival horror game,Once Humanhas a lot to offer players. Gameplay is split across a 6 phase season, with a hard reset of both PvE and PvP servers happening at the end of the season. Players keep certain core currencies and all of their blueprints when this wipe takes place.
Skill progression inOnce Humanworks via the memetics tree. This can be viewed by pressing the tab key, and choosing the memetics option. The player can unlock skills related to thecrafting system, combat, and base construction. Some memetic unlocks cost a lot of points to unlock, but are very useful in the endgame.
Mining The Most Ore
Prerequisites:
EveryOnce Humanplayer is going to spend plenty of time mining minerals. Starting withcopper oreas a new player, and progressing through tin, iron, aluminum, and tungsten. All of these are needed in volume for use with the crafting system.
On top of these common ores, there is silver and gold ore, that can be mined and sold for energy links. So it makes sense to ensure that the player is mining the most efficiently. This means having access to Tungsten Alloy Pickaxes, as these give the most resources when used on an ore node.
Automated Resource Gathering
Both theLogging Beaverdeviant and theDigby Boydeviant can be used to man specific platforms to gather resources automatically. The Logging Platform will produce around 300 wood per hour automatically, and store it within the structure for later collection.
The Mining Platform works a little differently. It can mine any ore that is available within the player’s territory. The player needs to tell the Mining Platform which ore to mine, by using the attached terminal. How much ore is automatically gathered will depend on the profusion of the specific ore within the boundaries of the player’s territory.
For The Best Ammo
Even though many players settle on steel ammo for their everyday load, simply for the balance between damage and crating cost, there are times, such as boss fights, when the best ammo is preferred. This means unlocking Tungsten AP Ammo (armor piercing).
However, Tungsten AP ammo of all kinds (pistol, rifle, SMG, or shotgun) is very expensive to craft. Tungsten Ingots (which require acid to forge), gunpowder, and the rare resource, Stardust Source are used to make this advanced AP ammo, so it is best used sparingly.
To Max Out Base Power
Once Humanplayers who are in to the base building aspect of the game, have the option of automating many of the features of their base, such as doors and lighting. This takes power. Furthermore, some crafting benches require power to operate. And then there are the base defenses such as auto turrets that need power.
This power requirement means generally, a compromise must be made, with some powered items being switched off when not in use. Unlocking the Advanced Generators can help to produce more power. This memetic unlocks the advanced solar, biomass, and hydraulic generators.
For The Best Mobile Base
One of the best features ofOnce Humanfor players who like to explore, is the fact that the player can build a mobile base on the back of a truck. This base acts as a mobile depot, and also as a respawn point. Players need to be aware though, that this truck consumes a lot of fuel. It should not be used as everyday transport. It should be driven to a specific location on theopen-world mapthat the player is operating close to, and parked there. It will only be moved when the player shifts to another zone and needs their mobile base nearby.
To build a truck, the player has to unlock the Large Garage structure. So it makes good sense to go the full nine yards and unlock the final set of upgrades as well. This means the player can upgrade the engine, chassis, tires, and fuel tank of their vehicles to the maximum level possible.
For The Best Defenses
Due to the interesting NPC base raiding mechanics inOnce Human, PvE players have a good reason to build base defenses as well as PvP players who need to defend against other players. Unlocking the best defenses possible is a sensible choice.
The Close Defense Turret 2 upgrade enables the player to build and place the Advanced Gatling Gun turret. This is a manually operated gun emplacement that does serious levels of damage to both NPC enemies and other players alike. It also gives access to the best auto turrets and defensive traps through the prerequisites.
