The latest episode of Being the Elite has revealed who the competitors for the title defense at Fan Fest will be. In early May,AEWannounced that at the Double or Nothing Fan Fest event, the BTE Championship would be put on the line. At the time of the announcement, Adam Cole was the reigning BTE Champion, and as the event approaches, he continues in his second reign.
The Being the Elite channel has existed far before the creation ofAEW. The channel first began making content back in 2016, where current AEW stars Matt and Nick Jackson (The Young Bucks) andKenny Omegadocumented their lives and shared the content with fans. Since then, the channel has expanded and grown to include various members of the AEW roster and competitors from the independent circuit. The channel currently has over 300 episodes.

This week’s episode number 308 entitled, “A Message For The Young Bucks,” featured another confrontation between Cole and Christopher Daniels. Daniels approached Cole and reminded Cole, the current champion, that Daniels had still not received his rematchafter losing the championshipto Cole several weeks ago. After exchanging a bit of banter, Cole proposed that instead of facing off in just any city, the two should showcase their skills with the BTE Championship on the line at AEW’s Double or Nothing Fan Fest this Saturday. The pair will compete in a 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match including games of rock, paper, scissors, Blackjack, and dice. The event will take place one day before the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
Cole is currently in his second reign as BTE Champion. He first won the championship onepisode 296, “Young Bucks, Please Go Home…”in late February. He defeated Matt Menard in a game of High Low to enter his first reign as champion. After a few successful title defenses, Cole put his championship on the line against Daniels on April 11. Daniels would defeat Cole in a game of Blackjack to enter his first reign as BTE Champion. A week later, Cole would recapture the BTE championship by defeating Daniels in a game of rock, paper, scissors.
Daniels has been unable to have his rematch for the BTE Championship over the past few weeks. In last week’s episode of Being the Elite, Daniels was stuck at homeafter contracting COVID-19, leaving him unable to challenge Cole for the championship. This week, he returned, once again proposing the challenge. In Daniels’ absence, Cole has remained preoccupied with the Owen Hart Tournament, to which he has made it to the final round. At the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday, Cole will compete in the finals of the tournament against the winner of the match between Samoa Joe and long-time pal Kyle O’Reilly, who will compete this Wednesday on Dynamite. Another feud that has taken flight on BTE over the last few weeks is between The Young Bucks and Matt and Jeff Hardy. AEW has already announced that The Young Bucks and The Hardys will compete against one another at the pay-per-view.
AEW’s Double or Nothing Fan Fest event will also include figure reveals from Jazware, a live AEW Unrestricted Podcast, an AEW Heels Panel, and AEW Games, in addition to the BTE Championship defense. For those attending, Meet and Greet opportunities will also be available. Beginning on Wednesday forDynamite, AEW will be hosting events in Nevada until the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday. Double or Nothing already has several enticing matches on its card, including four championship matches. The BTE Championship bout between Cole and Daniels the day before is only another promising matchup on the card for what already appears to be a spectacular weekend.
AEW’sDouble or Nothing will be live from Paradise, Nevada on July 05, 2025, on pay-per-view.
