TheSeason 2 Reloaded updateforCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2introduced new weapons, new maps, the new Ranked Play game mode, and several balance adjustments on February 15. Players may earn the season’s new weapons for free by progressing through the Battle Pass.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’snewest weapons include the ISO Hemlock assault rifle, KV Broadside shotgun, Crossbow, and Dual Kodachis. Reddit user u/Newlejj demonstrates the Dual Kodachis' impressive range and power compared toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’scombat knife. These katanas allow the player to move quickly toward an opponent with a longer-range attack, far surpassing the capabilities of the knife. The player’s clip shows that normal melee strikes from the Dual Kodachis have noticeably longer range and faster forward motion. Players on the receiving end of Dual Kodachis are unable to attack with their knives due to its inferior lunging at a longer range.
Dual Kodachis are much stronger than the standard knife inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but the new weapon comes with a few downsides. Players wielding the Dual Kodachis may notice a slower strafe and sprint speed, leaving them open for mid-range gunfire or strikes from a riot shield.Throwing knives may be a useful counteragainst oncoming attackers wielding the Dual Kodachis as well. As a result, these katanas are best suited for quick close-quarters engagements before switching to another weapon inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Although the katanas slow down a player’s strafing and spring speed, its potent range and striking speed are exceptional inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The Dual Kodachis are a clear favorite against normal knives, but Infinity Ward may adjust the weapon in future updates later this season and beyond.
Infinity Ward should continue introducing new weapons inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2to bring more variety into the meta. However, the developers at Infinity Ward have yet to addressa major problem in Season 2 Reloaded. New weapons are important for returning players, but Infinity Ward must take player feedback into account when developing new content like maps and modes.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
