Call of Duty Warzone 2has officially launched, and brings with it a multitude of changes and additions to excite both new and old fans of the franchise. Given the already massive popularity of the recently releasedModern Warfare 2, it can be assumed that this new free-to-play battle royale will receive similar amounts of attention.
Given the hype surroundingCall of Duty: Warzone 2, many fans are understandably curious as to what content they can expect to see from the game at launch as well as in the weeks following. Thankfully,Warzone 2has launched simultaneously with Season 1, providing a slew of content for fans to get their hands on.

Warzone 2.0’s Unique Season 1 Battle Pass
As a free-to-play title, it is no wonder thatWarzone 2has opted for the battle pass system of monetization, with this being a growing precedent in the wider gaming industry, especially for freely available titles. With that being said, it is clear that a form of tedium is growing among customers with regard to the repetitive formulas of battle pass systems, andWarzone 2has evidently taken this into account.
Warzone 2’sSeason 1 battle pass is non-linear, meaning it does not possess the standard numbered tier systems of most other battle passes. Instead,Warzone 2’sbattle pass appears as a map with 20 different quadrants that a player can unlock. These quadrants all contain four different battle pass items, with the unlocking of all of them giving access to a “high value target” unlock. With players earning tokens from gameplay that can then be spent on these unlocks, it is clear thatWarzone 2’s Season 1 battle pass is a unique one.
Warzone 2.0 Season 1 Operators and Weapons
A brand-new operator by the name of Zeus is available via the premium battle pass from the outset of Season 1. With his real name being Zosar Kalu, Zeus is an operator for the KorTac faction ofWarzone 2. In terms of weapons, the BAS-P submachine gun, the M13B assault rifle, and the Victus XMR sniper rifle are also available from the start of Season 1, potentially changing the metas and overallgun dynamics ofWarzone 2.
Of course, new content will additionally be added as the season goes on, as has been the norm withCall of Dutyseasons for some time. In terms of operators, fans will be happy to learn that Gaz, who appeared extensively in thecampaigns ofMW2and 2019’sModern Warfare, will be making an appearance as a multiplayer operator at some point during the season. Another operator by the name of Klaus is also set to joinWarzone 2during Season 1, with the name potentially hinting at a German origin or even a festive theme for the upcoming holidays.
Another weapon is also set to be added to the game at some point during Season 1, being the Chimera assault rifle. A plethora of in-game store bundles have also been made available with Season 1 such as the Pro Pack and Fringe Tactical bundles, with the availability of the Sloth and Greed bundles hinting at a seven deadly sins-themed set of future bundles.
It is also worth mentioning that theModern WarfareFC limited-time bundles will be available throughout Season 1. Being a partnership for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, players will be able to use soccer stars Neymar, Pogba, and Messi as playable operators inWarzone 2. Given the hugechanges that have been made forWarzone 2, the fast addition of even more fresh content with Season 1 is made all the more impressive.
