One of those very important features is cross-play.Modern Warfarehas cross-platform play and progression, and it is a fan-favorite feature.Warzonewill follow in its footsteps and feature similar cross-play functionality. Infinity Ward has confirmed that players will be able to compete with and against soldiers on the battlefield on Xbox One, PS4, and PC as long as they have an Activision ID and account.
Along with being able to play on different platforms, one other important thing to note is that players onModern Warfarewill be able to play in the same lobbies with free-to-playWarzoneplayers. There is no distinction between the two, just in case there were any concerns.Everyone has access toWarzonefor free beginning on March 10, and everyone can play together.
Some may be unhappy with cross-play, as a test revealed recently thatconsole players have the advantage over PC players inModern Warfare. Among other things, some advantages have to do with players who are stunned, where PC players cannot move anywhere near as quickly as console players. On a large playing field like a battle royale, any advantage may seem unfair. These issues could be able to be fixed with updates, but at this point, it hasn’t been addressed.
The clock is ticking forWarzone, asfans have literally been waiting for over nine months since the battle royale was first leaked, but now they have less than a day to wait. There is evena countdown timer withinWarzoneto help prove the theory as to whether water does indeed boil slower if one stares at it.
Call of Duty: Warzonelaunches on March 10 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
