Reddit user houseofreturn discovered that their Pichu with a witch’s hat is one of therarest shinies inPokemon GO. According to the player, their boyfriend said that this Pichu with the witch hat is super rare and that they “went crazy” with the discovery. Players could get a shiny Pichu with a witch’s hat from 2 km eggs during the 2017 Halloween event. Even so, the shiny hatch rate during the event was low, and even catching a regular Pichu was hard. But being a casual player, they only discovered this when they turned to thePokemon GOsubreddit for an answer. Likewise, otherPokemon GOplayers were amazed to see a player with one of the rarest shinies in Niantic’s game.
The post by houseofreturn got a lot of reactions and comments, with players explaining that Pichu in a witch’s hat is rare, and others congratulating the player. One user suggested opening Pichu’s page to check thePokemon’s IVs and Appraisalsand see how many stars it has. The player then discovered that their Pichu has three stars, which makes their Pokemon even more special. Another comment noted that the shiny Pichu could “easily be traded for 50 shiny Legendaries.” The player said they wouldn’t do that, as they usually get shiny Legendaries from their boyfriend, who is a frequentPokemon GOplayer.
