Summary

Dragon’s Dogma 2is a game all about exploration, and perhaps more prominently, combat. With ten Vocations to try out, there is no shortage of fun to be had when it comes to cutting through enemy ranks and toppling large bosses, especially as each Vocation has unique skills that are steadily unlocked.

One aspect of combat that is encouraged in the action RPG, and manyCapcom gamesfor that matter, is creativity. The developers provide players with many creative ways to kill enemies inDragon’s Dogma 2, but more often than not, the game will not hold the player’s hand in this regard, and they must figure these moves out for themselves through trial and error.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pinning an enemy down

1Hold Down An Enemy To Let Pawns Hit For Free

Jump On An Enemy & Use The Grab Button

The Grab button, which is RT/R2 on Xbox and PlayStation controllers respectively, is easily one of the most versatile and fun options that players can toy around with. However, there is one function that not many players know about. When an enemy is somewhat knocked over or when facing a low-lying creature such as a Saurian, players can jump on top of them and then hit the grab button to hold them down.

As all of the Arisen’s strength goes into keeping the enemy pinned to the ground, they will need help from their allies, who can swarm around and rain down blows for free. This is just another example ofhow Pawns make the game more fun. For added effect, players could even do this in a shallow stream to make it look like they are drowning their foes. However, while this is a very fun way to kill enemies inDragon’s Dogma 2, it is a technique best saved for when most of the opposition is already dead.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Slamming an enemy into the wall

2Run Into A Wall While Holding An Enemy

This Will Trigger A Slamming Animation & Deal Damage

Most players know that they can pick up and throw enemies. However, a lesser-known feature and creative way to kill enemies is simply to run at a wall while carrying the poor creature. This will trigger an animation where the Arisen slams the enemy into the wall, dealing damage, and if they are already low, the impact could kill them.

While it’s not the most reliable way to take down the opposition, it’s certainly fun to pull off occasionally and shakes up the usual flow of combat. Of course, this only works for smaller enemies whom the Arisen can pick up. It is also a good option formore supportive Vocations, such as Tricksters who cannot deal damage with their weapons.

3Pierce A Foe On The End Of The Warrior’s Sword & Run Them Into The Sea

Use Goring Lunge To Take One Unlucky Enemy On A One-Way Trip

While the Warrior Vocation is usually on the slower side of gameplay, there is one extremely funWarrior weapon skillthat players can get creative with. Goring Lunge and the advanced Ravening Lunge both cause the Arisen to charge forth with their weapon, and if they make contact with a smaller being, they will skewer the unlucky creature.

Momentum will carry the Arisen and their makeshift shish kebab as far as they like, often into a wall for extra damage. However, an arguably more funny alternative that is only available in certain places on the map is to run with the enemy into the sea, where the terrifying Brine will do the rest of the work. Of course,a mistake noDragon’s Dogma 2player wants to makehere is to go too far into the sea themselves, as that will be lights out.

Cyclops from Dragon’s Dogma 2

4Turn A Cyclops Into A Bridge

Lure A Cyclops To A Land Gap & When They Fall, They Will Be Turned Into A Bridge

Dragon’s Dogma 2is a game with incredibly dynamic physics, and one of the most hilarious things players can do is turn a Cyclops into a bridge. When near a land gap where a small bridge would make sense, players can bait a Cyclops and hopefully get it teetering on the edge. By getting it to attack and miss, there is a good chance the creature will lose its balance and fall over to create a bridge.

While this doesn’t technically kill the Cyclops outright, the stranded beast would eventually die from hunger or thirst and, of course, the Arisen and all of their Pawns can attack freely as much as they want. The best thing about this is that by walking over the cyclopean bridge, players will unlock one ofDragon’s Dogma 2’shardest achievements, Cyclops Abridged.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Fickle Floor and Simulacrum

5Cause Enemies To Fall To Their Death As A Trickster

Place A Fickle Floor & Lure The Enemy With The Simulacrum

Easily one of the most fun ways to kill enemies inDragon’s Dogma 2is by using a few ofthe Trickster’s best weapon skills. By placing Fickle Floor or the upgraded Tricky Terrace on the edge of a cliff, players will create a false floor that if stepped on will cause enemies to plummet to their deaths.

However, without a reason, enemies will rarely make this silly mistake. This is where the Simulacrum comes in handy, as it is a ghostly aspect of the Arisen that baits the enemy. Using Espial Incense or the upgraded form of this skill, Visitant Aura, players can control where their Simulacrum goes, and position it on top of the false floor. Then, as long as an enemy’s focus is on the Simulacrum, they will make their way to a face-to-face meeting with the hard ground below. To get their attention,Tricksters simply need to swing their Censorwith basic attacks, or they could use Sweeping Shroud in a large area of effect.
