Bungie has revealed the next set of weapon changes forDestiny 2’s upcoming Season 21, with several Exotic weapons are being rebalanced. The previous updatecame midway throughDestiny 2’s current seasonand was more PvP focused, whereas this one pivots towards PvE changes.

Bungie had already made several balancing changeswith theDestiny 2Lightfall DLC, however, there were a number of things to be fixed post launch. For instance, the aforementioned mid-season patch brought some important weapon updates, re-balanced several artifact and armor mods, and made other quality of life changes as well. Along with that, Bungie had mentioned that it would rejig several Exotic weapons and also make changes to the aim reticles when hip-firing firearms, and the latest blog provides more insight into the same.

The post begins by addressing the reticle changes, where Bungie said, “We’ve looked at player feedback around how reticles convey less information at high field-of-view (FOV) settings, information that isn’t obvious mid-combat, and Exotic weapons whose perk state can be hard to track and have rebuilt several weapon reticles to address these.” The aim reticles for Fusion Rifles, Hand Cannons, Sidearms, and Trace Rifles inDestiny 2have been reworked so they “move more visibly at high FOV, while still conveying the current state of the weapon accurately.” Additionally, Fusion Rifle and Sword reticles will now have charge meters below them, and Bungie will also make more such changes in the near future. Furthermore, several Exotic weapons are getting custom reticles, and the Shayura’s Wrath SMG will feature an experimental reticle as well.

As for the specific Exotic weapon changes, a total of 17 guns are being significantly reworked, which many players feel has the potential to revive usually ignored weapons. For instance, Graviton Lance is getting a buff where it now fires at 300 RPM compared to the previous 257, with a reduced burst delay, and its opening shot will also deal more body and critical damage. Similarly, Tommy’s Matchbook now applies Scorch stacks to targets with sustained fire, which means players can now ignite targets as well. Elsewhere, theDestiny 2Duality dungeon Exotic Sword, Heartshadow, is also getting a buff, and the Eyes of Tomorrow Rocket Launcher will now be a good ad clear weapon with the latest changes.

Along with this, afew weapon perks inDestiny 2are also being tweaked, with Reconstruction, Fragile Focus, and Shoot to Loot now a little more rewarding. In the future, Bungie also plans to rework Swords, Sparrows, and is also redesigning how weapon zoom and damage falloff interact.

Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
