Despite the fact that Bungie had to delayDestiny 2’sThe Witch Queenexpansion to February 2022, this year has been great for the developer. Bungie celebrated its 30th anniversary on July 7, andDestiny 2is getting an entire DLC called the30th Anniversary Packto mark this milestone. With a lot of hype surrounding the 30th Anniversary Pack’s release, there is still a lot players don’t know about what the DLC entails.

The update is not fully paid, and there will be a free six-player activity called Dares of Eternity themed around the mysterious entities that are the Nine, as well as Xur and a space horse that the community has named Juan.Destiny 2players will also be granted access to the Grasp or Avarice Dungeon as part of the paid content, and the Dungeon is supposedly where theExotic rocket launcher Gjallarhornwill be obtained, as well as iconic weapons like Eyasluna and 1000-Yard Stare. There is a lot more presumably coming to the game with the 30th Anniversary Pack, and with all the changes made toDestiny 2this year, there are a lot of cool weapon options that Bungie could be adding next.

What Season of the Lost Changes Mean for Future Weapons

There is the chance thatDestiny 2will hold a crossover event withHaloas part of the 30th Anniversary Pack based on one of the universal ornament armor sets being clearly inspired byHalo. Furthermore, players spotted two weapons that seem like the Battle Rifle fromHalo 2and a Covenant-inspired weapon, which could be fantastic additions toDestiny 2’s arsenal. However, there are a lot more options that Bungie could be adding with the DLC, especially considering changes that were made to the sandbox prior to Season of the Lost’s launch.

Bungie shook up the foundations ofDestiny 2by completely providing all Primary guns with infinite ammunition. This meant weapons like bows and fast-firing guns became more reliable inDestiny 2’s endgame, as it wasn’t uncommon for players to run out of Primary ammo during intense Raids orGrandmaster Nightfalls. Furthermore, Bungie decided to make more Stasis guns now that the subclasses are less oppressive, which translated into a few new Stasis Kinetic options.

With this in mind, there are many weapons Bungie could add toDestiny 2starting tomorrow. While realistically not all of them will be included in the DLC, it’s not impossible that players will manage to get their hands on at least one or two, with more coming further down the line.

Cool Weapons That Would be Great Additions to Destiny 2

One of the most requested additions forSeason of the Lost has been a Kinetic Legendary fusion rifle, as having one would open up a lot of loadout options considering there are only two at the moment, and both are Exotics. The existing Kinetic fusion rifles are Bastion and Arbalest, with the latter being a linear fusion rifle and thus not really an option anyway. Still, including a Legendary fusion rifle, be it a regular Kinetic weapon or a Stasis Kinetic weapon, would be a welcomed quality-of-life addition for all those players who want to diversify their builds until the end of Season of the Lost.

Another weapon thatDestiny 2players have been very vocal about is a Legendary trace rifle, considering there are six in the game at the moment and all are Exotic. The Legendary trace rifle could be of any element, the main reason why a it would be so huge is that they are a fun weapon archetype to toy with, but most of the time players want to use another Exotic over them unless it’s Divinity. Legendarytrace rifleswouldn’t need specific perks to be good, and this could finally open up more options on Bungie’s side when it comes to seasonal Champion mods.

Lastly, one of the first weapons players thought of when reading about Stasis Kinetic guns was a Stasis bow. Because Season of the Lost features a bow called Wolftone Draw, many players were extremely disappointed that it’s another Arc bow when it could have been the game’s first Stasis bow - especially now that the Headstone perk exists. A Stasis bow could come with Headstone to create Stasis crystals on headshot final blows, andDestiny 2players have expressed their interest in an Exotic Stasis bow. The reason is that there is only one Kinetic Exotic bow, and it’s not particularly useful in PvE, whereas a Stasis Exotic bow could be more exciting.

Overall, there are a lot of cool weapons that could make the cut in the 30th Anniversary Pack, and they wouldbenefitDestiny 2players' ability to customize their builds and loadouts. This is also Bungie’s desire, which is the reason behind many of the changes coming to the game with tomorrow’s sandbox update. Ultimately, there could be none of these weapons types or anyHalocrossover in the DLC, but that doesn’t mean there will never be a chance to add them in the future.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
