Summary

Destiny 2players have urged Bungie to turn the Festival of the Lost masks into a transmog, so they may be used on other pieces of armor. These masks are only available during the annualDestiny 2Festival of the LostHalloween event.

The Festival of the Lost event allows players to earn new weapons and rewards by playing Haunted Sectors and earning Eerie Engrams. This year,Destiny 2Festival of the Lost has also added Legend Haunted Sectors, along with a new way for players to focus Exotic Armor without having to use rare materials for the same. One of the most important aspects of the event is Candy, a currency which can be earned upon completing activities while any of the ritual masks are equipped. These ritual masks are quite goofy in appearance and are appreciated by the community; however, they are a separate piece of armor with mediocre stats, and aren’t a viable option for most builds. To change this, players have requested Bungie to let them transmog the masks, so they can be equipped on their favorite pieces of armor while doing any activities.

In a post on the DestinyTheGame subreddit, user UselessDeadMemes mentioned how having to keep the masks on during activities to earn Candy is an outdated mechanic. They also suggested that Bungie should just keep Candy and Page Manifestation as a default event feature, and turn all the masks into a transmog. Several players from theDestiny 2community seemed to agree with their suggestion, where one user also commented how not being able to use an Exotic helmet in activities like Haunted Sectors doesn’t make sense.

In addition to this, Bungie is also selling differentFestival of the Lost Masks inDestiny 2’s Eververse store for silver. This has divided the fanbase, where some fans argue that since these masks take up an armor slot and only provide benefits during the event, purchasing them doesn’t make sense in the long term.

Aside from this,Festival of the Lost also introducedDestiny 2’s first ever truly all-black shader. There have been other all black shaders before, but all of them had some color difference that was noticeable. However, this shader is locked behind a Memento which can be used only once on a crafted weapon, leaving some fans disappointed.

Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
