Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion was a big game-changer in many ways, as Bungie upped the difficulty of its looter-shooter quite a lot, all while making changes to the sandbox from The Witch Queen era and adding a new subclass in the form of Strand. With much more weight given tobuildcrafting and accessibility,Destiny 2strives to be a game for everyone and one that players can jump into at any given time - even though there are still many barriers in place. Still, players are finding ways to make the difficulty changes less imposing by crafting powerful builds, and a new Void Hunter setup is now making the rounds online, likely hinting at a niche Exotic being nerfed in the future.
While Void has been very popular overall since the Lightfall expansion came out, mostly thanks to a mix of great abilities andDestiny 2’s artifact mods in Season of Defiance, Hunters have been mainly using the Exotic chest piece called Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk. However, a new iteration of the Void Hunter is using two less favored Exotics in the form of Orpheus Rig and the Wish-Ender bow, which is making Grandmaster Nightfalls a breeze thanks to spamming the Shadowshot Deadfall Super. Since this combo is trivializing endgame content, there’s a fair chance that Bungie will do something about it in Season 21 - specifically, nerfing one of the Exotics.

Destiny 2’s New Void Hunter Build Calls for Wish-Ender Exotic Bow Nerfs
Void Hunters were once very popular specifically because of the combination of the Orpheus Rig Exotic boots and the Deadfall Super, as the former grant players Super energy back when they land their Deadfall, tethering targets together. The more hits are landed while the Super is active, the more Super energy players will get back, which is true for any situation inDestiny 2. Since the Orpheus Rig Exotic can refund up to 50% Super energy on its own, players used it to get their full Super back relatively quickly.
However,Destiny 2’s Wish-Ender Exoticbow is making this task even easier than before, as it currently is one of the weapons that provide the most Super energy back per hit, if not the one that does this the most. This is because the Wish-Ender bow hits three times per arrow shot, which is a quite potent boon in the endgame due to how often one is forced to peek out of cover to shoot once or twice and then go back to hiding.
The Wish-Ender’s unique three-hit arrows are then multiplied by all the enemies tethered via the Deadfall Super, which makes just a few hits recharge it fully when combined with the Orpheus Rig boots. Combined with the intensiveOrb of Power generation inDestiny 2after the Lightfall expansion, one can easily use the Deadfall Super as often as a Hunter Dodge, which is a ridiculous uptime that was most likely not intended by Bungie. Since nerfing Orbs of Power would do little about this, and since the Wish-Ender bow is often used for Super generation purposes, it is the one at risk of getting a nerf in Season of the Deep.
While The Witch Queen expansion cemented Moebius Quiver as the better Super for endgame content and especially bosses, Deadfall is still very much alive and kicking, and it shows how powerful the Hunters' tether can truly be. As such, an almost game-breaking combination such as this is quite probably not making it toDestiny 2’s Season 21, and the most likely outcome is that Bungie will nerf the amount of Super energy a single tap of the Wish-Ender bow can provide. Even if it’s a niche Exotic, this peculiar bow seems to be about to sink into the Vault of every Guardian using it.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
