The current Seasonal format forDestiny 2has been in place since Season of the Undying back at the startof the Shadowkeep expansionin 2019. Aside from some small changes here and there, the format has mostly remained the same. Thirteen Seasons later, this format has begun to feel rather stale.
As such, Bungie has been working to bring some changes to mix things up and not follow the same pattern repeatedly. Vendor Upgrades is one thing that has seen a significant change inDestiny 2. In Season of the Deep, Vendor Upgrades have been replaced by Seasonal Bonuses.

Seasonal Bonuses Explained
While Vendor Upgrades were partially tied to reputation and Seasonal Challenges originally, they have been reworkedfor Season of the Deep. On the Seasonal Challenges menu, players may notice a brand-new tab called Seasonal Bonuses. This essentially consolidates all the Vendor Upgrades onto one page and turns them into unique Seasonal Challenges that reward both XP and a helpful upgrade that allows players to do things like focus Deep Engrams and gain bonus reputation. There are 10 Seasonal Bonuses in total, and they are listed below.
Be aware that certain Seasonal Bonuses are time-gated, and that not all Seasonal Bonuses can be earned within the first week of the Season.

Deep Challenger
This is one of the first Seasonal Bonuses that players will unlock in Season of the Deep. It simply requires completion of the first week of the ‘Into the Depths’ quest, which is the main story of the Season. It rewards an additional Deep Engram when completing a weekly Season of the Deep activity challenge.
Deep Armor Focusing
This one is heavily dependent on RNG and how much players engage with the seasonal activities like Salvage and Deep Dive. In order to unlock Deep Armor Focusing, players must obtain the entire set of Season of the Deep Armor which consists of five pieces (Head, Arms, Chest, Legs, and Class item). Completing this unlocks the ability to focus Deep Engrams into higher-stat armor.
Deep Weapon Focusing
to unlock this Seasonal Bonus, players must obtain any sixweapons added in Season of the Deep. Whether it is the Taken version of the old Reckoning weapons or reissued Reckoning weapons, any of these weapons will grant progress. When unlocked, players focus Deep Engrams into a weapon.
Synchronized Swimming
For this Seasonal Bonus, players simply need to reach Rank 7 with the Sonar Station in the H.E.L.M. Reputation is earned by completing the new seasonal activities and also by fishing. It is recommended to do the seasonal activitieswith their respective keys, as this significantly boosts reputation gains. This Seasonal Bonus unlocks bonus reputation when opening chests at the end of seasonal activities.
Deep Attraction
This Seasonal Bonus is exactly the same as the previous one. The only difference is that it requires Rank 13 with the Sonar Station. Upon unlocking this, players will have a chance at getting an additional Deep Engram after completing activities.
Efficient Angler
This Seasonal Bonus is tiedto the new fishing activity. This one is more difficult to complete, as it requires catching fish with a maximum catch bonus via the Focused Fishing buff. The Focused Fishing buff only increases when players catch a Legendary fish.
To complicate matters further, players usually only have a few minutes to make any progress before a public event despawns the Fishing Pond andthe Focused Fishing buffresets. When completed, this Seasonal Bonus will give a chance of having Bait refunded after catching a fish.

Forgotten Treasures
This Seasonal Bonus involves the Salvage activity. In order to complete it, players must complete three jobs during a single activity. This activity is easy, so it shouldn’t take long for players to complete this Seasonal Bonus. Upon completion, this Seasonal Bonus gives a chance at an additional Deep Engram when redeeming a key.
Deepsight Salvaging
In order to unlock this Seasonal Bonus, players must defat both bosses that spawn in the Salvage activity. Each week, one of two bosses will be awaiting players at the end. The first is Azshradat, Celebrant of Xivu Arath. The second is Uorgotha, Scourge of the Deep. As such, it will take two weeks minimum for players to complete this Seasonal Challenge. When completed, the first weekly weapon focused Engram at the Sonar Station will be guaranteedto have Deepsight Resonance.
Deep Sea Locksmith
Just like with the previous Seasonal Bonus, this one requires players to beat all three bosses in the Deep Dive activity. Just like with Salvage, the three bosses are on a three-week rotation. This means it will take three weeks for players to complete this Seasonal Bonus. When unlocked, players will have a chance at earning a Deep Dive Key when they redeem a Salvage Key.
Dive Station
This Seasonal Bonus cannot be completed yet at the time this guide was written. The Abyss depth in the Deep Dive activity is not currently available, but once it is players simply have to complete an encounter here to complete the Seasonal Challenge. When it is completed, players will gain access to an ammo crate that has both Special and Heavy ammo in it. It also grants additional objective time.
