Back during the 2020 Game Awards, indie studio ZA/UM announcedDisco Elysium: The Final Cut, a free extended version and director’s cut ofDisco Elysium. But with no recent news and the release soon coming, fans have been worried that the game would be delayed. However, ZA/UM has reassured buyers thatthe game is still definitely still coming in March.

According to ZA/UM,Disco Elysium: The Final Cutis the version ofDisco Elysiumthat was planned from the get-go. Still, the original game quickly became a hit in 2019 following its release.Disco Elysiumisn’t like normal RPGswith combat and bosses, but rather features an amnesiac detective in a sort of politically-driven murder mystery. It was even written by a novelist named Robert Kurvitz who published fiction before going on to found ZA/UM. While unconventional, this method proved to be a hit withDisco Elysium,which was later named Game of the Year by several publications and won numerous awards.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cutamplifies everything that makesDisco Elysiuma great gameby offering the player more freedom, new storylines, characters, and cutscenes, and even full voice acting for the entirety of the game, adding up to 1.2 million words. With such a strong foundation, fans are certainly getting excited about the new features that will help bring the capital city to life.

But ZA/UM has been somewhat quiet in regards to the upcoming director’s cut ofDisco Elysium, worrying some fans and causing some negative speculation. But on theDisco ElysiumDiscord, one of the developers under the name of “Mikk” reassured fans that the game is still set for its release date later this month. He explains in a short message that it takes some time to get the new features to cooperate with the old ones players have grown to love and ensure the game plays in the way ZA/UM had planned.

While there isno exact release date planned forDisco Elysium: The Final Cut, it’s due out in the next 26 days. It’s quite possible the developers will surprise launch the extended version considering how popular it already is.

InThe Final Cut,Disco Elysiumfans can expect the new version to expand the map with an entirely new area of town, but in terms of graphics, PS5 versions will runDisco Elysium: The Final Cutat 4K with 60 FPS. While that may not be the main draw of the game, it’s sure to support all the new quests, dialogues, and never-before-seen district of Revachol.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cutwill come out in March 2021 for PC, PS4, and PS5, and in summer 2021 for Switch and Xbox Series X/S.
