How to Start the Quest “The Best Mystery Solver in Dreamlight Valley”
The quest“The Best Mystery Solver in Dreamlight Valley”is a quest unlocked by increasing Friendship withBelle. This quest becomes available once the player has reachedFriendship Level 7with Belle and has also completed her previous quests, including “Book Hunt” and “Breaking the Code.” The player must also have completed Mickey Mouse’s Friendship Level 10 quest “The Secret Door,” as access to a location unlocked during that quest is required to complete Belle’s quest.
How to Complete the Quest “The Best Mystery Solver in Dreamlight Valley”
In Belle’s previous quest, the player helps her assemble a Translation Machine from her father’s notes, with which she has used to read a Mysterious Book she found in the castle’s library. The book turns out to be a journal containing notes referring to “The Best Mystery Solver in Dreamlight Valley.”
Belle is determined to identify this character, and enlists the player to assist in solving this mystery. She hands over a page from the journal which, when used from the player’s inventory, turns into a fragment of a memory depicting the location of a lost object.
Find the Lost Object in Glade of Trust
Players should head to the waterfall in Glade of Trust. Here, they will find an orange fishing pool in the pond at the northwestern corner of the Glade.Use the Royal Fishing Poleat this location and reel in the Fishing Hat shown in the memory. Open the inventory and use the Fishing Hat, and it will unlock a new fragment of the memory.
The second part of the fragment depicts a bulletin board on the wall of a stony room. Players may recall this location from Mickey Mouse’s quest, “The Secret Door,” when they first gain access to this hidden room within the Dream Castle. The player should head back to Mickey’s Secret Room, accessed through the gem-adorned doorway found behind the potted plants, just inside the Castle and to the right.
Inside Mickey’s Secret Room, players may find sparkling books on the floor from previous visits, but the focus of this trip is to locate the bulletin board depicted in the memory. The board is found at the back right corner of the room, and interacting with it will cause a note to drop to the ground. When collected and used, the third panel of the mystery is unlocked, showing Belle herself at an ornate desk.
Return to Belle
Return to Belle, who finally remembers that Minnie had given her the title of the Best Mystery Solver in the Valley after helping her fellow villagers with some puzzling tasks. She also recalls having a dedicated area within Beast’s Castle where she’d work on her research. For the final part of this quest, the player helps her set up a writing nook in her home.
Speak with The Beast and Scrooge McDuck
To arrange Belle’s office in Beast’s Castle, the player needs to retrieve two pieces of furniture: anElegant Armchairand aWriting Desk. To get theElegant Armchair, visitScrooge McDuck’s Storeand speak with him. Select the “I’d like to order some items.” option, and order the Elegant Armchair, easily located in the category depicting Belle’s portrait.
To get theWriting Desk, players need to find The Beast and talk to him, and he will hand it over. Return to Belle with the furniture and speak with her. Take a selfie using theRoyal Camerain her new office, and the quest is completed, awarding Friendship. Belle’s next quest unlocks at Friendship Level 10.
