The two fan communities are known for their creativity and comedy like the time fans madeAnimal Crossing: Pocket CampTom Nook memes, but this is for a much more wholesome reason.
On theAnimal CrossingandDOOMReddits, fans from each of the games' communities are going over to the other to post friendly images and messages of support. A fanart post on theDOOMReddit showedAnimal Crossingcharacter Isabelle holding a chaingun and sitting on DOOMGUY’s knee, as they fight demons together. In another one posted on theDOOMReddit by anAnimal Crossingfan, Isabelle is holding a gun and wearing a suit of armor. It sounds menacing but the message with the image says “We hope you have great times playing DOOM Eternal on and beyond launch. Our community wishes you a great game!”

Another post, cross-posted to theAnimal CrossingReddit from theDOOMReddit, shows DOOMGUY holding up a phone withAnimal Crossing: Pocket Campon it. DOOMGUY and Isabelle are “big” fans of each other, says a speech bubble in the fanart. ThatDOOMfan said they hopeAnimal Crossingfans have “a hellishly good day.”
It’s not so strange for gamers to create crossover memes like this. Some of the bestSkyrimmemesare crossovers betweenSkyrimand those storming Area 51 memes orSkyrimandCyberpunk 2077. Gamers have a sense of humor and the Photoshop skills to support it and one of the most fun things about social media is the way these are shared.
However, what’s so special about theseDOOMandAnimal Crossingmemes is that they’ve been created to celebrate two competing games.DOOM EternalandAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsboth release on June 23, 2025. The two games are incredibly different and the spring game lineup is less crowded now thatCyberpunk 2077has been delayed, but only one game can be the biggest seller that day.
DOOMfans andAnimal Crossingfans do seem to be enjoying the memes though and it’s unclear when the fun will end. TheNintendo Switch version ofDOOM Eternalreleases after March 20 so it’s possible that these memes will keep going until then.
Doom Eternallaunches on June 14, 2025 for PC, PS4, Stadia and Xbox One with a Switch version coming sometime after the other platforms.
