Players who loveDragon Ballcan look atDragon Ball Z Dokkan Battleas an action-packed take on the puzzle-solving genre, with teams ofDragon Ballcharacters duking it out as players gather energy through connecting similarly-colored balls. However, instead of being a simple connecting game,Dokkan Battlespices things up with the inclusion ofLink Skills.

Thanks to Link Skills, players are incentivized to have a more nuanced approach when making teams. Certain teams with similar characteristics or “tags” can be equipped with a Link Skill that capitalizes on that categorization. In turn, Link Skills not only affect its equipped characters, but it may also affect their characters’ performance based on who their team members are. For fans curious about what Link Skills would set their characters apart inDokkan Battle, their focus must be on the kind of teams they want to create.

10GT

WhenDragon Ball Zofficially ended with Goku defeating the behemoth that was Majin Buu, fans thought this was the end of his story. As such, whenDragon Ball GTpremiered in 1996, fans were shocked not just to see a new Super Saiyan transformation but a reimagined quest for the Black Star Dragon Balls complete with new villains and a rag-tag team of childlike Goku, his grandchild Pan, and the present teen Trunks.

Prior toDragon BallSuper,Dragon Ball GTserved as the supposed “finishing” arc of Goku’s story, with this monumental reputation marked by the Link SkillGTinDokkan Battlegameplay. While GT initially gives Ki + 2, it can grow to a whopping Ki + 2 and ATK & DEF + 10 at Level 10. This allows members of the Shadow Dragon Team like Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Super Saiyan 3 Goku, and Omega Shenron to work efficiently despite rotations and even withoutDokkan BattleSupport members, although this Link is limited in that it only works with these characters.

9Tournament Of Power

Of all arcs of the newDragon Ball Superanime, it was the Tournament of Power that served as the highlight of Goku’s new adventures. Set in a multiversal arena, the Tournament of Power took the most powerful warriors of each universe in a fight to the literal death, where those defeated would have their universes eliminated and the victor granted a wish. InDokkan Battlegameplay, players who recreate their favorite teams from the Tournament can get theTournament of PowerLink Skill, a perk that can greatly boost the performance of Universe Survival Saga members like the iconic Majesty of the Mighty Jiren (Full Power, Super TEQ) as well as members of Universe 7 such as True Ultra Instinct Goku (Ultra Instinct, Super AGL).

At its core, Tournament of Power grants a flat Ki + 3 bonus to these characters. However, when fully leveled up to Level 10, Tournament of Power grants not just a Ki + 3 bonus but also a whopping 7-percent boost to ATK and DEF, transforming teams into juggernauts that can more or less eliminate most competition.

8Nightmare

It’s not aDragon Ballsaga if there’s no overarching villain to represent the world’s current biggest threat, and there’s no other card thanNightmareto encapsulate this inDokkan Battlegameplay. This Link Skill is almost immediately tied to most Villain Cards in the game, giving more than half the current roster a chance to benefit from this Link Skill and benefiting a lot ofDokkan Battlefree-to-play teams.

When equipped, Nightmare gives a flat 10-percent bonus to ATK. However, when upgraded to Level 10, Nightmare can grant up to 15 percent bonuses to its wielders, making Nightmare an optimal ATK Link for most top-tier Villains such as Roar of Resentment Frieza (Full Power, Super AGL) and Limitless Energy Androids 17 & 18 (Super AGL).

Nightmare

7Super Saiyan

The Super Saiyan transformation is one of the most iconic traits of theDragon Ballfranchise, with most of its important characters being capable of tapping into one or more of these forms. Unlocked only when a Saiyan taps into their full potential, Super Saiyans have been the world’s best defenders against its many threats. Now a symbol for heroes inDokkan Battle, theSuper SaiyanLink Skill is one of the most potent ATK Links available for Super Saiyans - which are thankfully the most popular characters in the game.

Similar to Nightmare, Super Saiyan grants a flat 10-percent bonus to ATK once equipped. This can be upgraded up to a 15-percent ATK bonus when this is turned into Level 10. While this is a copy of the Nightmare card but for heroes, this becomes a formidable card for the likes of Miracle-Making Super Saiyan Goku (Super AGL), and Awakened Saiyan Blood Super Saiyan Vegeta (Super INT), as well asotherDokkan BattleFusion memberswho are almost always Saiyan.

6Shattering The Limit

Overcoming one’s limitations and becoming something greater than ever imagined have been hallmarks of theDragon Ballstory, especially when the likes of Goku and even his villains manage to tap into increasingly-powerful forms simply because they know these aren’t their current limits. InDokkan Battlegameplay, this is represented byShattering the Limit, a previously-forgotten Link that has become quite formidable once more characters have begun fitting its criteria.

At its core, Shattering the Limit provides a measly Ki + 2 when equipped. However, upgrading this to Level 10 can grant as much as Ki + 2 as well as a 5-percent boost to ATK and DEF, allowing a lot of niche members of a team to be able to contend with members of the meta. These include people such as Earth-Protecting Flash Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth, Super TEQ) and Legend Reborn Super Saiyan God Goku (Super INT).

5Fear And Faith

In the face of insurmountable odds, heroes have nothing but faith to rely on and persevere. ADragon Ballsaga always has a moment of utter defeat before one of the heroes manages to turn the tide of battle, and this is represented in the gameby theFear and FaithSkill that can helpDokkan Battlenuking mechanics.

Compared to other Link Skills, Fear and Faith can be shared by a lot of villains across various categories, giving players multiple ways of synergizing their teams. This card gives its wielder Ki + 2 but also reduces the DEF of all enemies by 1 percent. At max level, this card can give Ki + 2 to its wielder and give a DEF reduction of 10 percent to all enemies. This card becomes immensely terrifying when equipped by the likes of Destroyers Born of Dragon Balls Legion of Shadow Dragons (Super INT) and Mark of Almighty Power Goku Black (Super Saiyan Rose, Super INT).

4Shocking Speed

When the arrival of Super Saiyan Goku shattered the concept of Power Levels inDragon Ball Z, it’s usually through bouts of speed that this difference in power is often represented by both heroes and villains. InDokkan Battle, this trope is represented byShocking Speed,a Link Skill that has become a game-changer in its capability of bridging gaps between heroes and villains that have been otherwise difficult to merge in a team.

With this Link, characters who equip this are granted a Ki + 2 bonus. However, at max level, this Link Skill provides Ki + 2 as well as a 5-percent DEF boost. This is extremely useful when combining unique tandems of powerful opponents, such as Life Form of Hate and Ruin Cell (1st Form, Extreme TEQ), and Battle Against Limits Goku (Kaioken, Super STR).

3Over In A Flash

In team-building games such asDokkan Battle, having the best gear for the most characters is an optimal strategy to create multiple builds, and this is reflected byOver in a Flash. This is one of the most 3-Ki Link Skills in the game, despite a lot of villains not having access to this Link. Regardless of this caveat, Over in a Flash is extremely useful for players who want to build meta teams comprised of some of the most common Super Saiyan characters and even some of the most prominent villains in the game - perfect forDokkan Battlenewcomers.

At its core, Over in a Flash gives a flat Ki + 3 bonus at base. However, when equipped to Level 10, this Skill gives Ki + 3 as well as a 7-percent ATK bonus. Interesting unit pairings to have this card would be Last-Ditch Attack Frieza (Full Power, Extreme STR) and The Final Clash Majin Vegeta (Extreme AGL).

Fear and Faith

While some arcs ofDragon Balloften feature numerous villain-type characters, there’s always one Big Bad running things behind the scenes. InDokkan Battlegameplay, players can evoke the exact same feelings throughBig Bad Bosses, perhaps one of the best ATK and DEF Link Skills in the game - especially for villains of any variant such asDokkan BattleINT Charactersand even STR Characters.

At its core, this Link gives a 25-percent ATK and DEF boost if its wielder has 80 percent HP or less. However, this easily becomes overkill at max level, as this gives a flat 25-percent boost to ATK and DEF without the HP requirement. Frightening characters to have this Link Skill would be Invincible Absorption Majin Buu (Ultimate Gohan, Extreme PHY) and The True Value of Perfect Form Perfect Cell (Extreme INT).

Shocking Speed

1Prepared For Battle

When it comes to having the best-shared skill among characters in any game, it’s ideal for said skill to be shared by as many characters as possible. InDokkan Battlegameplay, this is represented byPrepared for Battle, an almost Saiyan-exclusive link that still works perfectly well as a straightforward Link Skill since a majority of the characters in the game are Saiyans, anyway. This is also helpful forDokkan BattleSTR Characters, as they benefit the playstyle of these players as well.

This Skill provides a Ki + 2 bonus at base form, but when upgraded to Level 10 this Skill can provide not just Ki + 2 but also a whopping 5-percent bonus to ATK and DEF. This makes certain OP-level characters into juggernauts, such as Awakened True Power Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth, Super AGL), and Nightmarish Impact Legendary Super Saiyan Broly (Extreme TEQ).
