The fact thatEA and Koei Tecmo are working togetherto produce an AAA monster hunting game has been known for some time now, butWild Hearts' title was revealed only recently, with a proper showcase coming up later this week. Set in a fantasy version of feudal-era Japan,Wild Heartsis effectively a total unknown at this time, with the only major tidbits of available information being that it’s supposed to be a premium triple-A title to rival the likes ofMonster Hunter.

While there have been a fewWild Heartsteasers dropped by Omega Forceover the past couple of days, they’re fairly cryptic and mysterious, and it’s a safe bet that the reveal trailer will provide more context as to what they meant. In regard to its production,Wild Heartsbeing one of the EA Originals means that it’s following up on some highly acclaimed titles such asUnravelandIt Takes Two. Omega Force and Koei Tecmo are, therefore, bound to put their best foot forward with the upcoming reveal.

It’s worth pointing out that Koei Tecmo is seemingly looking to enter the AAA market with a strong series of releases over the next couple of years. Not only doesWild Heartsalready promise an AAA-tier experience, but there’sTeam Ninja’sWo Long: Fallen Dynasty, too, which already looks like a remarkably cinematic and well-produced game.

None of that is to say that Koei Tecmo will leave itsWarriorstitles behind, however.Fire Emblem Warriorslaunched on Switchearlier this year and it’s exceedingly likely that Omega Force will circle back to the concept again in the not too distant future. In the interim,Wild Heartsshould be an interesting exercise that may yet giveMonster Huntera run for its money.

Wild Heartsis currently in development.
