November has arrived and with it some of the biggest video game sales of the year. Black Friday is November 26 and is certain to have some of the biggest discounts of the month, but as ever many retailers aren’t waiting. That includesAmazon, the world’s largest online retailer, which has been prompted to hold a new sale after Target launched its own earlier this week.Amazon’s sale is a “Get 3 for the price of 2” discount, and includes not only video games, but also books, board games, movies, and more.
Games available as part of Amazon’s Buy Two, Get a Third Free sale include products across all modern console platforms, including PlayStation 4,PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. There are even some PlayStation VR games included. The sale isn’t thin on next-gen releases, either. Where some sales might focus on last-gen releases with a smattering of next-gen titles, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S titles are very well-represented.

Amazon has even thrown in a smattering of recently-released games, too. For example,Call of Duty: Vanguardis included in the sale on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, as isJust Dance 2022,Riders Republic, andGuardians of the Galaxy. It’s still surprisingly strict beyond that, however. Other recent releases likeMario Party Superstars,Metroid Dread,Back 4 Blood, and even the standard edition ofFar Cry 6are not included in the sale.
Those opting to purchase semi-recent, popular games will have a better selection on their hands.PlayStation classics likeGod of WarandMarvel’s Spider-Manare included, as are multiplatform AAA releases likeAssassin’s Creed ValhallaandCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There are some surprising omissions, however, likeHorizon Zero Dawn,Ghost of Tsushima,The Last of Us 2,Monster Hunter Rise,Psychonauts 2, and other games. Black Friday may be a better bet for these missing titles.
It’s unclear how much longerAmazon’s “Get 3 for the price of 2” salewill last, so interested video game hunters should probably look through what’s being offered soon. Simply select three video games included in the sale (or books, movies, etc.), and the cost of the cheapest of the three will be removed in checkout.
As with all sales news coming out around this time of year, buyers should be wary of buying games early while prices are still high. Many of the games in Amazon’s sale are likely to be discounted onBlack Fridayor during Christmas sales in December. That said, there are still some great deals in thisAmazonsale, especially for those who want to pick upCall of Duty: Vanguardas soon as possible.
