Elden Ringcontinues to get updates that make significant changes to the game. Last month’s Patch 1.03 nerfed some weapons while buffing others, and implemented many changes to the overall balance. It added an NPC, new steps to the quests of existing ones, and NPC map markers toElden Ringso that players didn’t need to wander around aimlessly for the next step in their storylines.

Most notably, Patch 1.03 nerfed Mimic Tear Ashes and several other strategies that allowed players to kill bosses in just a few hits. It also made someunintentional nerfs to the Starscourge Radahn boss fight, which were later reversed in another update. Patch 1.03 came out on March 17, just over a month ago, and Bandai Namco now reveals the patch notes for the next major update forElden Ring.

Users can now download Patch 1.04 forElden Ring, which comes with several balance changes. It buffsElden Ring’s Colossal Weaponsby improving their attack speed and two-handed damage while lowering the recovery time. It should be noted that these changes are not applicable to jump attacks. The physical block rate and guard boost of slower weapon types get improved, and Devourer’s Scepter and Grafted Blade Greatsword will now do more damage.

Patch 1.04 buffs severalsorceries and incantations inElden Ring. It improves the cast speed and recovery time for many spells like Crystal Barrage, Rennala’s Full Moon, and Ranni’s Dark Moon. Some incantations like Dragonclaw, Scouring Black Flame, and Greyoll’s Roar will consume less FP and stamina. On the other hand, it reduces madness build-up on an enemy when using The Flame of Frenzy and Frenzied Burst.

The following section in the patch notes discusses adjustments to weapon skills. Several weapons skills got buffed as FromSoftware reduced the cast time and decreased the stamina cost for many attacks. An extensive list of bug fixes follows, and it also mentions performance improvements at the very end. Additionally, Patch 1.04 addsnew event phases for the NPC Patchesand an option to turn the camera auto-rotate feature on or off.

It appears that slower weapons and magic attacks got buffed in this latest update. Colossal weapons, in particular, did not seem that popular, so these notes will probably encourage fans to use them more often.Magic attacks inElden Ringreceived a huge buff, and it’s great to see that FromSoftware decided to make all tactics more viable instead of nerfing the overpowered ones.
