In a memorable encounter with Godfrey, First Elden Lord, oneElden Ringplayer conquered the boss using only the crafted items in their inventory. There are countless powerful weapons and spells for Tarnished to enjoy during their playthrough meaning that crafted items tend to be left by the wayside. By the timeElden Ringplayers get to their third or fourth playthrough, they often look for creative ways to beat the already familiar bosses. Challenge runs like these inspire players to make the game as difficult as possible, and allow them to try out every item in the game regardless of its usefulness. Occasionally, an unconventional style like this can show the functionality and practicality of some of the lesser-used strategies in the game.

Crafted items and pots definitely deserve a place in every character’s build. The abundance of materials makes creating items painless, and the benefits outweigh the cost. Many players hoard consumable items because they are unsure when to use them or if they will be able to replenish their supplies. However, that is typically not a problem with mostcrafted items inElden Ring. Finding cookbooks in the Lands Between allows players to craft different items, such as pots or Throwing Daggers. Pots can be especially useful for players who do not have access to a specific damage type or status effect due to their build. Lightning and Scarlet Rot can both be used in pots if the player has the cookbook and materials needed. These items can give any build diversity with relative ease.

In a video posted to Reddit, anElden Ringplayer defeated Godfreyby only using crafted items. The player who is known as Head_Advice9030 is seen in the video throwing countless numbers of Rot Pots and Poisonbone Darts at the First Elden Lord until they eventually kill the humongous boss. The fight lasted just over five minutes, which is still relatively quick for anElden Ringboss fight. Defeating Godfrey is not easy by any means, and this player was able to accomplish this feat armed simply with the Jellyfish Shield and consumable items.

The player is wearing theJar helm in the Elden Ringvideo. This may be paying homage to one of the most notableElden Ringplayers, LetMeSoloHer, who famously donned the same helmet. However, it is far more likely that they are simply wearing the helmet in reference to the many pots that they are throwing in battle.

Head_Advice9030’s victory over Godfrey using only crafted items has gained attention within theElden Ringcommunity. The use of crafted items has also gained more recognition and appreciation, as players have realized the potential of these items in certain situations. There are manyways to beat Lord Godfrey in Elden Ring, but this one might take the cake.

Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
