Recently, anElden Ringplayeron Reddit called jothither shared an image of their player character in the game that resembles the cartoon character Nigel Thornberry. The character originates from the animated seriesThe Wild Thornberrysthat first aired on Nickelodeon in 1998 about a family of wildlife documentary filmmakers. Nigel Thornberry himself was the eccentric father of the show’s main character, Eliza, that was voiced by famous actor Tim Curry.
The general reception to the character reveal was mostly positive with some surprised that it looks as good as it does. The character has Nigel Thornberry’s facial features, including his red hair, his mustache, and his long nose, as well. Of course, some commenters asked whether the helmets in the game fit differently for the character, especially since they have a longer nose. According to jothither, they customized the character to look likeNigel Thornberrywhile playing the prisoner character, and provided a link in one of the post’s comment threads to show how they enlarged the prisoner mask for the character’s nose.
However, jothither stated that they had switched to astrologer later on because they didn’t want to cover up their character’s face. This isn’t the first time that players used the character creator inElden Ringto make their characters look like others from different games and franchises. A fewElden Ringplayers have used the character creator to make characters look like Venom Snake fromMetal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Painand Kratos from theGod of Warfranchise. One player even used the character creator to make their character look likeRoss Geller fromFriendsinElden Ring. Now, Nigel Thornberry can be added to the list of fictional characters that have been recreated inElden Ring.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
