One newElden Ringplayer’s experience with one of the game’s Abductor Virgins goes horrifically wrong for them.Elden Ring’s world is enormous, about 79 square kilometers, and among this large expanse of land are the many enemies that inhabit it, nearly each one of them more terrifying than the last. From the gigantic Rune Bears that crush their prey to theCrucible Knights that won’t let players heal, there are challenging enemies to come across. And for new players that don’t know how to fight them, it could be a humbling experience to come across something like an Abductor Virgin.

TheAbductor Virgin is anElden Ringenemythat is as intimidating as it looks, being a gigantic moving statue with what looks to be an iron maiden attached. These enemies can be found in a multitude of locations, such as Raya Lucaria Academy and Caria Manor, and have a couple of versions that utilize their own weapons each; one with pendulum blades on chains, and the other with circular saws. While that in of itself is terrifying, their iron maiden chest can also open up and reveal snakes that come out to grab the player and pull them in to do extra damage.

Unfortunately for one newElden Ringplayer, their experience with the Abductor Virgins was not a good one. Posting to theElden Ringsubreddit, user kcompto3 uploaded a clip of their encounter with an Abductor Virgin. In the clip, it shows the player healing while getting away from the Abductor Virgin’s spinning attack. When the Abductor Virgin throws their pendulum blade, the player runs under it, but is knocked down by the blade being pulled back. As they try to get up, the Abductor Virgin opens its chest, grabs the player, and delivers the extra damage before ejecting them off the nearest ledge to their death.

In the comments, many users gave advice on how to fight the Abductor Virgins, while some also gave the sage advice of never fighting near a cliff if possible, for that was the very reason the player died. It’s actually shown that 14% ofElden Ringplayer deaths were caused by fallingas seen in a recent infographic, showing that not enough players heed this advice.

While it is an unfortunate death, it is also one the player will likely learn from. With every death, hopefully a lesson is learned, likemaking sure to putElden Ring’s runes into Vigor, or even upgrading a weapon to do more damage.Elden Ringisn’t the type of game to give leeway to new players, so learning one’s way through it is the only way to keep surviving the brutal Lands Between.

Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
