TheHigh IsleChapter forElder Scrolls Onlineadds two new Companions for players to recruit: a Khajiit and a Breton. While Ember is an eager mage with ahistory of crime and poverty(she doesn’t even mind if the player kills NPCs), Isobel the Breton is about as noble as they get. Her introductory quest even sees her freeing a fair Maiden from being forced to wed against her will.

She works well in close combat roles, especially as a Tank, and her unique skill lets players get a bit of extra loot when they beatElder Scrolls Online’s various World Bosses. She is a bit out of the way, but with a mount, it only takes a few minutes to ride from Gonfalon Bay to her quest start location.

Isobel the Breton: Passives, Abilities, Likes, and Dislikes

Isobel Veloise is a Templar whose sense of justice guides her path forward. She is afollower of Stendarr, and fittingly she is well suited for close-quarters combat as well as Tanking for the player. Her three skill trees are oriented around mitigating incoming Damage and dealing Damage equally, though she works best when committed to a single role.

Like the two companions introduced in theBlackwoodChapter, Isobel is not OK with the player committing crimes, including everything from murder to pickpocketing. Aside from that, though, she really isn’t too picky. As long as you stay on the straight and narrow, Isobel is an easy Companion to please.

Companion Passives and Abilities

Every Companion inESOprovides players a unique Passive effect. Isobel’s passive ability is called Isobel’s Grace, and it gives players a small chance to find a unique pack of a slain knight alongside other World Boss loot. These packs can contain lots of different items, including crafting materials, valuable Treasures, and more.

The Blazing Might skill tree gives Isobel a variety of damaging spells that can mostly only be used at melee range. The Brilliant Shield skill tree gives her three abilities that make her a better Tank and grant crowd control. The Healing Grace skill tree, as the name implies, is all about healing allies. Isobel works best as a Tank or an up-close fighter, so choose abilities from the Blazing Might and Brilliant Shield skill trees to make her as hardy as possible.

Rapport Guide For Isobel - Likes and Dislikes

Isobel dislikes few things in life: if players kill innocent NPCs, steal from containers, pickpocket, or loot an innocent NPC’s body, her Rapport will go down. If players enter a Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary or an Outlaw’s Refuge, it will go down, too. Just be sure to dismiss her before getting your hands dirty.

Aside from criminal activity, Isobel has no other dislikes. Thebest way to improve Rapportwith Isobel is to complete High Isle world boss quests or Delve quests for Bolgrul of the Undaunted, as they both increase Rapport by 125. She is impressed when players talk to Faction leaders, and likes when players craft items and maintain gear with Repair Kits, too. Isobel likes when players kill Daedra, and she likes when players complete other world events on High Isle like Volcanic Vents and Delves.

How To Get Isobel the Breton in Elder Scrolls Online

Isobel the Breton can only become your companion if youown theHigh IsleChapterforElder Scrolls Online, as the High Isle and Amenos zone cannot be accessed unless the player has the newest Expansion on their account. Once you’ve made it to High Isle, head far to the west until you find what looks like a Medieval Faire outside of Castle Navire on the southwest coast.

Isobel can be found just outside Castle Navire, and talking to her initiates the quest “Tournament of the Heart”, which sees players help Isobel free her friend from a forced marriage by winning a Tournament of Knight Aspirants. After completing this introductory quest, players are able to summon Isobel Veloise as their Companion via the Collections tab.
