It has a ‘Strong’ rating on Opencritic, with the top critic average being 75 and a total of 63% of critics recommending it. InMages of Mystralia, players take on the role of Zia, who is just discovering her magic powers at the beginning of the game. A mage is only born every ten years in the game, and thanks to a king gone mad with Celestial Magic, they are shunned. She is forced out of the village after discovering her powers.
She meets a character who describes themselves as the Mentor and has her journey to a mage sanctuary to hone her skills. Eventually, Zia must prevent war between trolls and Mystralia, all the while learning her destiny and discovering the larger plot at play. Overall, it’s an interesting premise, and with it available forfree via the Epic Games Store, there’s little reason not to check it out.
