Poke balls inPokemon GOare vital tools that trainers will need to build up their team. These balls act as both capture devices and homes that hold caught Pokemon. There are currently 5 different types in the game, but only 3 are usable in most situations.
To use a Poke ball for catching new allies inPokemon GO, trainers will need to fling them at pocket monsters that appear on their screen in encounters of various kinds. One’saim will affect a Poke ball’s catch rate,however,they still have their innate individual catch rate stats.

Poke Ball
The regular red and whitePoke Ball is the most basic inPokemon GO. Initially, players are given50 of these when they begin the gameon a new account, and, additionally, Poke Balls are rewarded by leveling up until the trainer reacheslevel 11.
Great Ball
Notable for its blue top-half with the red tabs, this is the next step-up from the regular Poke Balls.Pokemon GOGreat Ballsincrease the potential to capture a wild Pokemon by 50%.After a trainer reacheslevel 12, they will receive20 Great Balls as a gift. Furthermore, they will unlock the ability to get them from spinning Photo Discs and by other means. Players also receive Great Balls upon each level up to until they reachlevel 19.
Ultra Ball
The optimal device for catching Pokemon, the yellow and black Ultra Balldoubles the chance of catching a new Pokemon,almost guaranteeing the capture. Upon reachinglevel 20, players will begifted 20 Ultra Ballsfor simply playing the game. They are also unlocked as a reward for spinning Photo Discs and more. Trainers receive them as level-up bonuses until they reachlevel 40.
Master Ball
Master Ball made itsPokemon GOdebut as a reward for completing theLet’s GO Special Research quest. Theonly way to acquirea Master Ball isby completing featured Seasonal, Timed, or Special Research quests. Since players rarely get a Master Ball and it has a100% catch rate, they should use it wisely. The most beneficial Pokemon to use upon must be monsters like High IV Legendaries after a raid, extremely rare wild spawns, rare Legendary Shiny Pokemon, and more.
Premier Ball
ThePokemon GOPremier Ball stands out as the only kind of Poke ball without an in-game description that gives the player some lore beyond what is known about it in the main series games. It is useful in Raid Challenges to catch Raid Bossesand Shadow Pokemonafter winning against the Team GO Rocket but is onlyunlocked after level 5.
Premier Balls have the same catch rate as regular Poke Balls, though, they cannot be stored in a trainers bag and disappear after a Raid Challenge.Players will get Premier Balls in a Raid Challenge depending on their performance, with trainers that contribute more receiving more.
