Ewan McGregor recently reprised his belovedStar Warsrole as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and no, it’s not from that Disney Plus series. It turns out he’s done it again since then, but it may not be whatStar Warsfans expected.Despite the pretty completeemotional journey seen in theObi-Wan Kenobiseries, it seems as though fans still want more. Granted, it’s understandable that people who love a thing will always want more of that thing. But this may be a bit of a monkey’s paw case. McGregor has indeed returned to the part of Obi-Wan Kenobi once again since the series finished, but it doesn’t carry the same kind of weight this time around. It may have more in common with theStar WarsHoliday Specialthan anything else.RELATED:Obi-Wan Kenobi: 10 Most Important Moments In The MiniseriesA new sketch from Comic Relief, the British charity using comedy to raise money against poverty, features none other than McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a parody of the Peacock reality seriesThe Traitors. The Peacock show features a plotinspired by games likeAmong Us, where contestants must root out a group of “traitors” in their ranks by voting them out. The parody sketch, airing on the BBC, featured several big names filling those roles, including comedian Stephen Merchant, Danny Dyer (EastEnders), Mary Berry (The Great British Bake Off), and Jennifer Saunders (Shrek 2). Helpfully, a good chunk of it was uploaded to Twitter, giving Obi-Wan fans a particularly surreal look at their hero.

McGregor cheekily references the Dark Side and Anakin Skywalker while Merchant calls him out for being “obviously green screened” and not even bothering to show up. McGregor then breaks character and hilariously claps back, saying, “hey, Merchant, pipe down, I’m just trying to stay in character here. It’s been a while.” He’s not wrong there, though he seemsconfident thatObi-Wan Kenobiwill get a season 2on Disney Plus, so maybe that excuse won’t work for much longer.

It’s nice that McGregor could appear in character for a good cause like Comic Relief. A good bit of comedy can be pretty cathartic, especially aftermany involved withObi-Wan Kenobifound the experience frustrating. There was a lot of turbulence from the writing and other aspects of the show, leading many fans to consider it among the weakest of recentStar Warsofferings. This may have resulted in tonal whiplash for those watching this sketch right after seeing the series.

Even so, it was nice to see.Obi-Wan Kenobi has an interesting history in theStar Warsuniverse, so this may not even be the strangest thing he’s done. Never mind that it’s non-canon. This is the same man who fell in love with a Mandalorian Duchess, so he’s no stranger to keeping things a little jiggy.
