As such, lightsabers make their triumphant return from the galaxy far, far away, but as players compete against and with each other to be the best Sith and Jedi in Fortnite, it’s always worth knowing the power of the lightsabers, and what makes the best Star Wars weapon in Fortnite worth seeking out.
Lightsaber Stats
While some lightsabers have unique powers attached to them, all lightsabers will deal the same damage, so if players find a lightsaber in a pile of loot, rest assured that the color of the blade will not impact the damage, attack speed, and structure damage, all of which, can be found in the stats listed below:
How Do Lightsabers Work?
Lightsabers are usually only active duringFortnitexStar Warsevents that occur roughly once a year around May 4. When players find one, whether through eliminating Darth Vader, floor loot, or Imperial Chests, they will be able to utilize their great power. Each consecutive strike with a lightsaber will grant extended damage, with the combo fulfilling: 45, 45, 25, 25, 25, 150. This means that a strike deals 45 damage, a spin 25, and a final slam, 150. Whilst lightsabers are fun, and their combos can be deadly, they are rather hard to control. It’s also worth noting that players can hold L2/LT to block gunfire, but fast fire will break the guard, and explosives cannot be blocked.
Lightsabers are great for taking out structures in Build Mode, but in Zero Build, they can be the perfect defensive tools for players who lack cover. Players used to be able to use lightsabers whilst riding Boars or Wolves, but they were inactive weapons in water.
9LEGO Lightsaber
A Green Blade With No Special Powers
Star Warsand LEGO have always had a great relationship, and now, that comes to LEGOFortnite, bringing iconic structures and weapons to the cute plastic game. However, lightsabers in this mode are restricted to just one variant, albeit with three colors: green, blue, and red, all of which, are randomly acquired and hold no power over the others.
These lightsabers are great for the game mode thanks to their damage input to structures and enemies, but destroying structures grants no resources. The great advantage of this weapon comes from the fact it has no weapon durability like other swords and dagger items.
8Luke’s Lightsaber
Luke Skywalker is a famed Jedi, like his father before him. There’s a lot of talent within Luke Skywalker, the man who brought Darth Vader back to the Light Side of the Force and destroyed the Sith once and for all. With Luke’s lightsaber, players can enjoy a green blade, as well as a hilt design inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber.
There’s nothing wrong with this lightsaber, and it’s the only iconic lightsaber in the game with a green Kyber crystal. The fact that the blade is green could have an advantage over other sabers due to its camouflage within the green grass. However, it lacks the coolness of a Sith blade.
7Kylo Ren’s Lightsaber
A Raging Red Lightsaber With No Force Powers
The crackle of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is intensely satisfying upon powering on the lightsaber of this desperate Sith. Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is the perfect embodiment of the character, rageful, untampered, and filled with frustration and rage.
Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is certainly unique thanks to the vents that give it a cross-guard look. It’s fun to run around theFortnitemap with this red lightsaber as if the player is a dark Sith Lord looking to eliminate anyone who underestimates their power.
6Obi-Wan’s Lightsaber
The Unique Blade Of Kenobi With No Force Abilities
Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the greatest duellists in theStar Warsfranchise, which makes perfect sense for why his lightsaber would enterFortnite. Seeing Obi-Wan’s lightsaber in random chests or on the floor also makes sense, considering that Obi-Wan has been through more than a fair share of lightsabers himself.
With this blue lightsaber at hand, players will be leaping over enemy players and slashing away at their limbs, all whilst saying “Hello there!”. Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most iconic Jedi inStar Wars, so using his lightsaber is the perfect way to homage to the Jedi Master.
5Mace Windu’s Lightsaber
The Coolest Purple Blade That Holds No Force Abilities
Mace Windu isn’t only a famous character for being played by the beloved Samuel L. Jackson, but it certainly helps. Mace Windu’s lightsaber has always been an iconic weapon inStar Warsthanks to its distinct and rare purple Kyber crystal, which gives Mace Windu an iconic purple blade to bring into battle. Players will want this lightsaber inFortnitedue to its popularity and rarity.
Although Mace Windu’s lightsaber acts the same as the rest, its distinct style is one of the reasons players might want to wield it. Mace Windu has always been popular, and to run into theFortniteisland and claim a victory royale with the purple lightsaber could spark plenty of fun for the Jedi involved.
4Skywalker Lightsaber
An Iconic Legacy Saber With No Force Powers
The history of the Skywalker saber harbors a legacy worthy of theStar Warsspace opera. It was onceAnakin’s, then Luke’s, then Rey’s, and now, it calls to theFortniteLooper. Luckily players won’t find this lightsaber with Luke Skywalker’s severed hand.
The Skywalker lightsaber is perhaps the most famous lightsaber due to its purpose in the franchise. It has seen a great deal of battles, and now, inFortnite, it will see even more. It’s another lightsaber that holds no power over the rest other than its visual identity.
3Jedi Padawan Lightsaber
Force Push With Green, Force Pull With Blue
In theFortnitexStar Warsevent, players can train with Obi-Wan Kenobi or Anakin Skywalker to obtain the Jedi Padawan Lightsaber. This lightsaber comes in two variants. The green Jedi Padawan Lightsaber will allow players to use the Force Push move, which is exclusive to this lightsaber, a power that will push objects and players away from the Force user with this power.
If players have trained with Anakin Skywalker, they will be granted the blue Jedi Padawan Lightsaber,a weapon that will give players the Force Pull ability. Although this power is strong enough to destroy objects, it is a risk-taker because it will pull players toward the Force user, leaving them open to close-combat attacks.
2Sith Apprentice Lightsaber
A Lightsaber That Allows Force Throw Abilities
Training with Darth Maul, players will be rewarded with the Sith Apprentice Lightsaber. The hilt design is almost identical to Darth Maul’s very own lightsaber, including the distinct and rageful red blade. With the Sith Apprentice Lightsaber, players will be given the Force Throw ability, a devastating Force move unique to this saber.
Although the Sith Apprentice Lightsaber doesn’t have the iconic design players are familiar with across the franchise, it’s still a powerful lightsaber that deserves recognition. Players will want the Force Throw due to its powerful ability to hurl objects at players, leaving devastation of damage in its wake.
1Darth Vader’s Lightsaber
Throw For Ranged Attacks
Darth Vader is perhaps the most feared Sith Lord in the galaxy far, far away. Now, players can findthis Darth’s lightsaber, which harbors the power one would expect from the Chosen One. However, players need to first defeat Darth Vader, which is no easy task considering his grand powers and health.
With Darth Vader’s lightsaber equipped, not only will players wield the iconic weapon of the Sith Lord, but they will have a unique ability that allows them to throw the lightsaber, dealing 60 damage to each target it hits from afar. Throwing a lightsaber is also a good tactic againstthe dreaded Spawn of Oggdo.
