Summary

The introduction ofFortniteSeason 5 provides the best reason yet for a potential collaboration with theRed Dead Redemptionseries. Once again,Fortniteis evolving considerably with the new season, and in the opening days of the season, it already looks like the game is making leaps and bounds forward. The new island provides plenty of new opportunities, particularly regarding the new POIs and mechanics that were introduced for the season. As it stands,Fortniteis already expanding impressively, butRed Dead Redemptionhas the possibility to add another big name toFortnite’s crossover history.

This week, players saw the start ofFortniteChapter 5 Season 1, and a whole new island came with it. WhileFortniteOG reintroduced players to the original POIs from the game’s early days, the new island has almost nothing in common with that original incarnation. From Rebel’s Roost to Hazy Hillside, players have the chance to explore everything for the first time all over again, as well as discover some of the changes to the game’s mechanics. For example, Medkits and Shield Potions now recover gradually rather than immediately, slightly changing their utility. Fans should be on the lookout for the next big move thatFortnitemakes.

Arthur and John Would Feel Right at Home Raiding Fortnite’s New Train

One major change compared toprevious versions ofFortnite’s islandis a train that continually travels along the island’s new train tracks. The players can’t drive the train themselves, but they can board the train to find loot, which is protected by armed guards. The point of the trains is to be a mobile loot source, which brings to mind the train heists that have been a common trope of old west stories for years. This would be a perfect opportunity to introduceRed Dead Redemption’s protagonists, Arthur Morgan and John Marston, to the world ofFortnite, because train heists are something that they know well.

Arthur and John would make excellent additions toFortnite’s Gaming Legends series, which has previously brought iconic characters such as Lara Croft and Doom Slayer to the game. BothRed Dead Redemptiongames are highly acclaimed, withRed Dead Redemption 2being considered one of the best games ever made, so they have more than earned the title of legends. Not to mention, both Arthur and John are highly experienced gunmen, so they would translate easily toFortnite’s style of gameplay, even if the weapons and setting are a far cry from what they’re used to in their home universe.

Fortnite’s Gaming Legends series currently features 33 skins, withMetal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake being its latest member.

Other recent developments point to a favorable environment forRed Dead Redemption’s heroes.Fortnite’s collaboration withInvincible, as well as the recent additions of Peter Griffin, Eminem, and Solid Snake show that being from more mature-rated source material isn’t an insurmountable obstacle. If anything,Red Dead Redemption’s name would be an advantage due to how beloved the games are. Arthur and John wouldn’t look too out of place among this company, be they in the store or as part of a Battle Pass. The outlaws might come from a dramatic and violent Rockstar tale, but they could have a comfortable place inFortniteall the same.

Arthur and John would make excellent additions toFortnite’s Gaming Legends series, which has previously brought iconic characters such as Lara Croft and Doom Slayer to the game.

Arthur Morgan and John Marston joining the Battle Royale in the wake of thenewFortniteSeasonfeels more appropriate than ever, especially if the train becomes a recurring element. As two of the best examples of modern-day gaming legends, their absence fromFortnitehopefully won’t persist for too much longer. After all, there are few characters more suited to a train robbery than the Van Der Linde gang’s most famous members.Fortnitehas never had a better chance to addRed Dead Redemption’s daring outlaws to the game.
