Ever since Epic Games' battle royaleFortnitebegan its transition into Season 3 with aDoomsday Event that sunk the game’s map, its official Twitter account has been active posting teaser images depicting different things that players can expect to see in the near future. The format is like a guessing game, withFortniteposting zoomed-in images and relying on members of the community to post the more clear versions thereafter, and today one of the subjects was what appears to be a new locale.
Fortnite’s initial tweet, featuring text advertising the Season 3 release date tomorrow, shows what appears to be a capsized boat with a pipeline in the background. Later the account retweeted a clearer image posted by JapaneseFortniteYouTuber LiaqN that shows off a multi-level structure with wooden towers, string lights, and a satellite dish.

While something like a new location is up to interpretation until players gain access to the content so they can explore it, other images in this social media game leading up to Season 3 have been more explicit. For instance, yesterdayFortniteshowed off a golden object that turned out to be a trident, leading many to believe prior rumors of animpending crossover betweenFortniteand Aquaman.
That aforementioned rumor was based off of leaks, but since the trident image was circulated on social media it has become increasingly more obvious that Aquaman content is being planned for the mostly underwater-focused Season 3. The DCEU Aquaman’s actorJason Momoa posted the trident image on Instagram, all but confirming what Epic Games has planned.
There is still plenty about the upcoming content that the world does not know about yet, which has left a lot relegated to rumors and theories. Some believe another big crossover coming toFortnitewill be Nickelodeon’sSpongeBob SquarePants, which would make a lot of sense considering the nautical bent of the new season andFortnite’s popularity with younger audiences, but as of this writing the idea has not been confirmed by anything official.
Luckily, fans who are eagerly anticipating the release of new things to do inFortnitedo not have to wait long. The game already hasshark-infested walls of waterteasing the underwater map, and tomorrow Epic Games will finally let its players in on what’s been in the works for so many months.
Fortniteis free-to-play on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
