Summary
Genshin ImpactFans have noticed an interesting detail about one of the recently revealed characters, the Cryo user Wriothesley. He has already been officially announced by the game’s official social media accounts which confirms his banner appearance in the upcoming update 4.1.
Wriothesley won’t be the only new character to arrive inGenshin Impact4.1 as HoYoverse also confirmed the arrival of another important Fontaine character name Neuvillette who will be using the Hydro element. Even though the game usually does not release two five-star characters with the same weapon type within one update, recent leaks have revealed that both of them will be using the catalyst as their primary weapon.

A Redditor named laughtale0 has shared an interesting post about Wriothesley that gathered a lot of attention in the community. The post has pointed out that Wriothesley has actually two pairs of ears, one of which could be tied to the fact that his constellation name is Cerberus. Even one of his emblems shows the head of a dog which could mean that his whole design and kit could have dog-related elements. Some fans in the comment section have pointed out that Wriothesley is not the first character to have animal-like ears as bothDehya and Keqing have similar features.
When it comes to his exact release date, HoYoverse did not specify if he will be featured on the first or second banner cycle ofGenshin Impactupdate 4.1which should drop at the end of September. When it comes to his playstyle, the special thing about Wriothesley is the fact that he will be the first catalyst user that uses the Cryo element. This means that he will be able to apply elemental damage with his Normal Attacks which is one of the greatest advantages the catalyst weapon type has.
However, recent leaks have also revealed that despite using this weapon, Wriothesley actually prefers close combat, similar to the Anemo user Shikonoin Heizou.Wriothesley’s Elemental Skillwill allow him to perform a short dash before entering a special state that grants increased resistance to interruption.
This buff will certainly help Wriothesley’s playstyle since he will probably need to be close to his enemies to do most of his damage. The Elemental Burst willcause Wriothesley to enter a 5-hit attack sequencethat has AoE damage. Credible leakers have confirmed that his burst will be much different from Dehya’s The Lioness’s Bite.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
