AGenshin Impactleak has revealed more information about which characters will arrive alongside the next major region in update 4.0. Since the game’s release, developer HoYoverse has introduced a pattern of adding one major region per update with the Dendro nation of Sumeru being the most recent addition.Even though the release of a new playable five-star character is always surrounded by a lot of hype, the arrival of a new main region is always the main event of the year for mostGenshin Impactplayers. Over the last couple of months, numerous leakers have been hinting about the content that players might face in the upcoming Fontaine region.RELATED:Genshin Impact Fans Notice Common Theme in Every Region That Could Repeat in FontaineA credible leaker named HutaoLover77 has revealed the identity of the two characters that will be featured inGenshin Impactversion 4.0. According to the leaker, the first Fontaine update will include thepopular sibling duo Lyney and Lynette. Both of these characters have been rumored to join the playable roster since their first appearance back in one ofGenshin Impact’s first story teasers in 2020. The post hints that they will be placed on the same banner which makes sense considering that previous leaks have revealed that they have different rarities.
Lyney is expected to be a newfive-starGenshin Impactcharacterwhile his sister Lynette is rumored to have a lower four-star rarity. This means that Travelers will be able to acquire both of them by pulling on the same banner. When it comes to their elements, multiple leaks claim that Lyney will be a Pyro character who uses the bow as his primary weapon.
He will be amain DPS character inGenshin Impactwhich led many fans to believe that he could have a similar kit to Yoimiya, another Pyro bow character who serves as the main damage dealer in most parties. At the moment, his overall damage numbers are apparently stronger than Tighnari’s but weaker than Ganyu’s. This should be taken with a grain of salt since HoYoverse could make significant changes to the characters' kits before 4.0 arrives.
According to credible leakers, Lynette will be an Anemo character who can summon an elemental spirit that stays on the field for 10 seconds, and it will deal coordinated damage whenever the active character performs a Charged Attack. Many fans seem surprised about the fact that neither of these characters uses a Hydro element, even though it’sknown as Fontaine’s representative element.
Genshin Impactis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, and a Switch port is also in development.
