Genshin Impact’s main draw is probably the unique character design which makes any new addition to the playable roster one of the main events most players look forward to. Adding a newGenshin Impactregion can be just as exciting, and it seems as though developer miHoYo keeps adding new explorable terrain every other update.
The current update 2.4 has brought a newGenshin Impactregion named Enkanomiyaas well as two new playable characters Yun Jin and Shenhe. Each newGenshin Impactregion brings something to explore, so it’s always exciting when a new one is added to the game.

Genshin Impactoffers a large and diverse world, from the high mountains of Liyue and Inazuma to the plains of Mondstadt. A recent post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subReddit has given a couple of additional information about one of the upcoming regions named Sumeru, which is apparently placed closely to Chasm which is already present on the current in-game map. Once added, players will arrive in the city of Sumeru by going through Chasm. The leak predicts that Sumeru’s arrival should happen this summer during Genshin Impact update 2.9. It’s also stated that Sumeru will be similar to the islands of Inazuma which were introduced in September 2022. Each nation in the game revolves around its own respective Archon and its divine ideals which are order, freedom, justice, etc. In the case of Sumeru, the God of Wisdom rules in the pursuit of all knowledge. Even though he is one of the rare leaders whose identity hasn’t been revealed yet, it is well known that Sumeru’s Archon is the youngest out of thesevenGenshin ImpactArchons. In addition, each nation favors a particular element that the Archon originates from. For Sumeru, it follows the lead of the Dendro Archon, whose powers create life from the surrounding desert. As such, players can expect a very flowery and plant-like environment when they enter the nation.
Adding a new element would give even more combat diversity to the game which left a lot of fans wondering when will the Dendro element become playable. Dendro is the only element in the game that still isn’t used by any character at the moment. It could still take some time for it to arrive considering that adding a new element could be tricky because of the complex elemental reaction mechanics. This element has previously been tied with the Chasm region which is also rumored to beone of the upcomingGenshin Impactregions.
