Developer miHoYo releasedGenshin Impactin 2020 and since then players have created unique fan art, ideal strategies for the various challenges in the game, and their ideal housing using the Serenitea Pot. Since its launch, severalGenshin Impactfans have noticed bugs and glitches in miHoYo’s action RPG, with some more intrusive than others including a notable issue with the Golden Wolflord boss.
Reddit user Krxnos recently posted a clip of theirGenshin Impactadventure as they try to battle the ruler of the Rifthounds, the Golden Wolflord boss, found in Tsurumi Island. As the video begins, Krxnos strikes at the Golden Wolflord with a bolt of lightning asYae Miko, bringing the health bar of the boss down below half health. Hurting the Golden Wolflord to this level results in the boss falling down which typically makes it more vulnerable to being attacked, but that’s not the case with Krxnos.

Instead of being able to inflict massive damage on theinfamous Golden Wolflordas it’s down, Krxnos illustrates a bug with Yae Miko’s ability to attack the boss during this phase. Krxnos has confirmed and stated that the Golden Wolflord’s right side is the main issue with this bug during the downed phase, causing the boss to be invulnerable. According to Krxnos, the creature’s front, back, and other side remain defenseless to Yae Miko’s attacks during this phase, meaning onlyGenshin Impactplayers who stick to its right side will immediately notice the bug.
The problematic Golden Wolflord phase shown off by Krxnos is caused by breaking its 3 geo heads to down the boss, which usually allowsGenshin Impactplayers to finish off the powerful enemy easily with one full onslaught of attacks. Yae Miko is one of many powerfulGenshin ImpactElectro characters, but it’s expected that other heroes will encounter the same problem with attacking the Golden Wolflord’s right side despite alternative typing.Genshin Impactplayers that main as Yae Miko will still be able to defeat the large enemy by attacking the other sides of Golden Wolflord, with Krxnos' clip cautioning against wasting cooldowns on the wrong side.
According to Krxnos, they first noticed the Golden Wolflord fight’s bug during aSpiral Abyssrun, but the issue is repeatable in the game’s overworld and theGenshin Impactfan has eliminated other potential causes using different testing methods. Although it’s currently unclear why the Golden Wolflord fight is buggy, there seems to be a problem with the hitboxes of the boss according to Krxnos and their examination. Because Krxnos has pointed out the boss’s invulnerability to attacks on one side, miHoYo may take it into consideration and fix the issue in an upcoming update.
Genshin Impactis available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version also in development.
