The next update forGenshin Impactfeatures an expansion to the game’s map, two brand-new characters added to the game, and plenty more to do. Since the arrival of the game’s newest region of Sumeru, the HoYoverse RPG has seen multiple expansions adding new sections of the region. Version 3.1 saw the introduction of the sprawling desert dotted with pyramids and plenty of underground dungeons to explore, while Version 3.4 brought with it theturbulent sandstorms of the Desert of Hadramaveth. Now, the next update will expand the desert’s sands even further

Genshin Impacthad already started to hint at the plethora of content planned for Version 3.6 as early as the debut of Version 3.5 at the beginning of March. HoYoverse officially confirmed the game would be receiving its two newest Dendro characters in the April update, with both Baizhu and Kaveh joining the roster. Baizhu, in particular, had been long rumored by fans of the game after appearing prominently within Liyue’s story. Now, Baizhu is finally set to release with the Version 3.6 update bringing loads of content to the RPG.

Genshin Impact’s Version 3.6 Special Program on Friday shared details about everything coming to the game with its newest patch. The update will bring anew expansion to Sumeru’s desert region, featuring a new weekly boss added to the game as well as story content centering around Nahida. Version 3.6’s main event, “A Parade of Providence,” is set to follow the Akademiya Extravaganza, a yearly festival held in Sumeru City. The event will feature a variety of mini-games with both logic-based puzzles and combat included.

The Version 3.6 livestream also introduced several smaller events being held throughout the update, as well as new Artifacts being introduced. “Fulminating Sandstorms” and “Brewing Developments” will each feature challenges centered around the game’s combat utilizing various buffs while “Recollector’s Path” uses a unique top-down bombing mechanic. The update will introducetwo new Artifact sets as well, with Nymph’s Dream providing Hydro damage and Vourukasha’s Glow buffing Elemental Skills and Bursts. Version 3.6 is scheduled to launch on Wednesday, April 12th.

WithGenshin Impact’s newest update less than two weeks away, many fans of the RPG are already looking towards the future of the game. The fifth major region, Fontaine, is currently expected to launch sometime this summer, introducing thetechnologically advanced domain of the Hydro Archon. Several recent events have centered around NPCs from Fontaine, seemingly teasing the next major locale waiting to be added to the game. Between new areas to explore, new characters, and multiple events, Version 3.6 looks to have plenty in store forGenshin Impactfans.
