The following contains spoilers forGhost of Tsushima.
Sucker Punch’sGhost of Tsushimahas gone down as one of the most beautifully crafted open-world games ever made, and that will more than likely be even further cemented after its PC release on June 04, 2025. Since it was released in 2020,Ghost of Tsushimahas been met with plenty of speculation regarding a sequel, especially as it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Unfortunately, there has yet to be any official confirmation ofGhost of Tsushima 2, despite the many rumors and leaks that have implied its existence.
Ghost of Tsushima 2has yet to be formally announced, but recent reports suggest a reveal could be coming very soon. As fans have been awaiting the announcement of a sequel for a few years now, its reveal needs to get a few things right — namely, rather than being overly focused on gameplay, it should gently tease the next steps for the legendary Ghost himself, Jin Sakai.

A Ghost of Tsushima 2 Reveal Should Prioritize Story Over Gameplay
Ghost of Tsushima’s Gameplay Is Already Solid
Ghost of Tsushima’s storyis memorable, heartwarming, and worth retelling, but its gameplay is arguably one of its best features. In fact,Ghost of Tsushima’s gameplay is so solid already, that there really isn’t much need to change or “fix” it, although there is always room for improvement in anything. As such, it might not make much sense to waste aGhost of Tsushima 2reveal on gameplay, as those who played the first game likely already know they can expect clean, polished combat, satisfying stealth gameplay, and a gorgeous open world begging to be explored.
When it comes toGhost of Tsushima 2’s gameplay, at the very least, it may still be effective to showcase its open world.Ghost of Tsushima’s open worldhas proven to be one of its best “characters” and a significant part of what has earned the game its acclaimed status. There is little doubt fans of the first game would be champing at the bit to see a showcase of the next iteration ofGhost of Tsushima’s breathtaking open world, so aGhost of Tsushima 2reveal including that would be welcome. Still,Ghost of Tsushima’s story left things fairly open-ended for the ex-Samurai, so perhaps a story-focused reveal for the sequel would be best.
A Ghost of Tsushima 2 Reveal Should Tease Jin’s Next Steps
Ghost of Tsushimaendswith Jin officially being excommunicated from Clan Sakai, likely sending him to mainland Japan as a result. He has remained committed to his ways as the Ghost of Tsushima, and whether he allows his uncle to live or kills him honorably in the end, he is driven out nonetheless. However, despite speculation that Jin could very well be traveling to mainland Japan, it is still only speculation. It is currently unclear what Jin’s next steps are, as the first game doesn’t detail that in any way. Instead,Ghost of Tsushima’s ending is left open-ended, probably to encourage players to continue exploring the open world, completing unfinished activities, and collecting anything they might have left behind.
While it might be controversial for aGhost of Tsushima 2reveal to disclose too much of the story, it should at least tease Jin’s next steps. WhetherJin is traveling to mainland Japan, remaining on Tsushima Island to live his life out as a fugitive, or heading somewhere else entirely, that much should be shown in the sequel’s reveal. Furthermore, Jin’s relationship with Yuna could be touched on in the reveal, as well as any other companions that were introduced in the first game. There is simply too much riding onGhost of Tsushima 2’s story for it not to be the primary focus of the sequel’s first reveal.
