InGhostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, the P.K.E. meter has multiple functions beyond detecting ghosts, including finding rifts and stunning ghosts to make them easier tocatch and destroys minions.

The P.K.E. meter belongs to the Busters' primary gear, and players can upgrade its Arms, Handle, and Attachment with unlockable rewards in the game, achieved by ranking up the overall player level and completing Research Contracts once players level up the overall P.K.E. meter rank. However, some P.K.E. builds are better than others when it comes to the game’s stats upgrade system, but it’s up to players to choose which upgrade works best for them, their Buster playstyle, and the spooky encounters they might face. This list details the best upgrades available for the most effective P.K.E. meter build.
5Extended Arms
The Extended Arms are undoubtedly the best Arms for the P.K.E. Meter inGhostbusters: Spirited Unleashed. They have all the benefits of the Pure Selenium upgrade and more, as they have the same enhanced Pulse Range for stunning ghosts to a P.K.E. blast standstill, but a better Reboot Duration and the bonus of increasedghost detection distance.
When playing as a Buster, the Extended Arms give the P.K.E. meter a boost for detecting ghosts further away, and during a match, its lit arms rise dramatically when a ghost is near. Unfortunately, the Extended Arms aren’t as good at detecting rifts, but they still have the best upgrade stats overall from the available upgrades, making them an ideal P.K.E. meter build choice once unlocked.
4Grip Taped Handle
The slightly DIY-hack sounding Grip Taped Handle sits on top of any Buster’s choice of P.K.E. handles due to its strong Pulse Range and Equip Speed, making it particularly ideal at zapping ghosts quickly. Additionally, it doesn’t have any of the Synthetic Wrap’s drawbacks when it comes to ghost and rift detection distance.

Players could try to unlock the Wielder Grip by completing the Wielder Grip Research Contract, located on the computer console inside Eddy’s lab in the Firehouse. However, the Wielder Grip falls short of handling speed, and only allows the addition of sprinting with the P.K.E. meter. This makes the Grip Taped Handle a better choice for any player’s P.K.E. meter build.
3Synthetic Wrap
A similar alternative to the Grip Taped Handle is the Synthetic Wrap upgrade. Its stats are quite evenly matched with the Grip Taped Handle, which has the same 3-plus Pulse Range, and it is also quick to handle with a plus for Movement Speed and Sprint to Action Speed.
However, the Synthetic Wrap has the same drawback as the Grip Taped Handle in that its Reboot Duration is slower, for instance, when measuring the cooldown time after players use the P.K.E. blast to detect a rift or false object. The Synthetic Wrap also has the disadvantage of weaker ghost and rift detection from long-range distances, but if quick usage is what players are after, it’s still a decent choice compared to the Default Handle.
2Detection Amplifier
InGhostbusters: Spirits Unleashed,the Detection Amplifier is a valuable upgrade due to its increased ghost detection distance and ghost stun duration, giving Busters a longer window to catch a stunned ghost, and enabling players to detect ghosts from larger distances. This is especially handy when a ghost is tricky to catch, like the speedier Ectoplasmic ghosts orhighly evasive Toxie Poltergeist. It also has increased Movement and Sprint to Action Speed, plus a strong Pulse Range for the P.K.E. blast.

On the flip side, the Detection Amplifier is lacking when it comes to detecting rifts and false artifacts, plus it has a weaker Reboot Duration. However, for players solely focused onhunting the ghost, it’s got great handling speed making it a good P.K.E. meter build choice.
1Outboard Chipset
The Outboard Chipset has a great set of stats for catching ghosts, including better handling and the unique ability to highlight ghost objects and detect false objects, which is handy when searching for rifts, as objects can give off false signals. However, its only drawback is a weaker ability to detect rifts hidden by the ghost. That said, this isn’t always necessary as ghosts often carry rifts when trapped, destroying a rift simultaneously, and theAI can be helpful in single-playerwhile searching for rifts.
To obtain the Outboard Chipset, players must complete the Outboard Chipset Research Contract. This involves killing 50 minions summoned by the ghost using the P.K.E. meter blast function and using the P.K.E. blast to locate aghost hiding inside objects25 times, remembering that players can only have 1 active Research Contract at a time. If players have extra time to dedicate to Side Hustles and secondary quests, the Outboard Chip Set is worth pursuing with its standout features.
