The arrival of 2018’sGod of Warmarked a fairly significant change within the franchise itself. With the introduction Kratos' son, Atreus, the brand new Norse mythology setting, and Kratos' personality being much more calmer and wiser by comparison to his earlier depictions, theGod of Warseries is being taken in a completely new direction. This also includes the weapons the player can use during active combat.
The most recentGod of Warinstallment marked the very first appearance of theLeviathan Axe, a weapon formerly wielded by Kratos' wife, Faye. Considering the Norse setting, a war axe does fit the world of the game from a tonal standpoint much better than the Blades of Chaos, even though the Blades still make an appearance in the game. In any case, the Leviathan Axe has since become the subject of many cosplays and weapon replicas. In fact, one fan of the series managed to painstakingly recreate the axe, twice.
